The Conga-Dynamics 365 Data Sync Connector is an application that resides on the customer's Microsoft Dynamics instance. The application comes in the form of a Dynamics solution. To install the connector, you must import the solution into your Dynamics org.

Importing the Solution into Dynamics

To get started, import the solution into Dynamics. The Conga development team supplies the solution as a ZIP file.

To import the solution

  1. Log in to Dynamics using administrator credentials.
  2. Go to Settings > Customization > Solutions.
  3. From the ribbon above the list of solutions, click Import () . The Select Solution Package dialog is displayed.
  4. Click Choose File and browse to and select the solution. Solution path: Conga_Dynamics365Connector/Package.zip/PkgFolder/ApttusDynamicsDataExchange_1_0_0_<<version_number>>_managed.zip
  5. Click Next to display solution information.
  6. Click Next to begin the import process. After the import is complete, close the window.

Post-Installation Setup for Data Sync Scheduling

After importing the solution, you must activate the default Power Automate flow to enable automation of data sync.

To activate the default flow for Power Automate

  1. Log in to the Power Automate portal. (Your credentials will most likely be the same as your admin credentials for Dynamics.)
  2. From the left pane, navigate to Solutions and click on the imported solution: Apttus.Dynamics.DataExchange.
  3. Find and click on the ScheduledSync.FlowManagement flow.
  4. From the Flow Detail page click Edit.
  5. If there are no connections set up for the flow, you are prompted to provide a valid connection:
    1. If a connection already exists, verify the valid (green) checkmark. Click the connection to continue.
    2. If no connections are available:
      1. Click on the plus (+) icon to create a new connection
      2. Click Sign In.
      3. After signing in, the connection is set up. Click the connection to continue.
  6. On the next page click Save. Go back to the Flow Detail page (step 4).
  7. Click Turn On. Verify that the status has changed to 'On'.

Automated scheduling of data sync also requires a proper connection to Power Automate. Refer to Configuring Data Sync Connections for steps. You can specify the frequency and interval for any sync group when you set up sync groups.
