New Features and Enhancements
The following features are new to Approvals in this release.
Email-Based Actions and Notifications for Collaboration Carts
The Approvals application now sends email notifications for activities related to Collaboration Cart approval requests, including assignment, reassignment, reminders, escalation, and cancellation. Each email contains a direct link to the My Approvals page. You can approve or reject a Collaboration Cart request directly from your email, which makes it easier to manage approvals without opening the application.
Standard Salesforce Tab for Approval Center
Introduced an out-of-the-box Salesforce tab that opens the Approval Center directly. You no longer need to create a custom tab. You can click the standard Salesforce tab to launch the Approval Center and manage approval requests across multiple transactions in one place. The Approval Center keeps all existing functionality, and Salesforce continues to handle authentication within the component. For more details, see Access Approval Center from Salesforce.
My Approvals Button for Collaboration Request as a Business Object
The Approvals app now supports approval requests originating from collaborator carts in CPQ. Approvers can click the new My Approvals button on the Collaboration Request object to view and take action on these requests directly from the Approvals UI. Ad Hoc Approvals: Progress Indicator While Adding Approvers
When you add a new approver in the ad hoc approval flow and click Save, the system displays a progress indicator while it processes the request. The Save button remains disabled until the action is complete.
Consolidated Emails Include Step-Level Comments
Approvers now receive all step-level comments in consolidated emails. When you enable consolidated notifications or approvals, the email displays step-level comments for each step in a structured table. If you use a custom email template, you can include step-level comments using template variables. These variables store comments in a JSON array, allowing you to display multiple steps’ comments in your email design.
