Using the HTML Editor

You can use the HTML Editor to create templates and store them directly on the Conga Platform.

Creating an HTML Template

  1. Navigate to Shared Apps > Conga Drive > Conga Templates. Click +New Template.
  2. From the options listed, select HTML Editor and click Next.
  3. Input your Template Name. Optionally, input a description for your template.
  4. Under the JSON Data window, select an existing data model to pull merge field information. If you do not have any existing data models, you can upload a JSON file containing your data. For details regarding this process, refer to Conga Platform Data Models.
  5. While in Edit mode, type text into the HTML window to input text, and insert merge fields using the data model in your JSON Data window. You can use any of the toolbar functions to enhance your template.
  6. While in Settings mode, you can find the metadata of your template, regarding the creator of the template, template type, date created and File ID. For more information on the use of the File Id, refer to How to get File Id for Composer API Request.
