Conga Mail Merge - Using a Salesforce Report for a Label in a Word Template
When using fields from a Salesforce Report to populate your label template for Conga Mail Merge, follow these best practices.
The report should have the master object ID field in the far right column. When the ID is placed in far left column or anywhere in the middle, all of the field columns after it are renamed which can cause errors in the merge process.
If you need a combination of Master fields and report fields on your label, add the Master fields to this report (unlike other Conga Mail Merge or Conga Composer processes, labels only support fields from one data source - either Master or report, not both). This report must be saved in the reports folder, Conga Reports, that was installed with the Conga Mail Merge app.
DO NOT use TableStart or TableEnd fields in your Word template, only the merge fields should be present. Click Update Labels anytime you make changes to the top left label.
Upload the Word template into Conga Templates. Note: When using a label with report data, you will not be able to merge from a local template; you must use the template from Conga Templates.
