To add data tags back with Microsoft Word
- Copy the missing tag (<>) using the copy icon in the warning message window.
- Click Open in Word .
- In the browser popup, select Open in Word or Open Link depending on your browser.Note: Avoid clicking Continue until you've finished editing the document (Step 11).
- If prompted by Word's Protected View, click Enable Editing
- Press Alt + Fn F9 (Windows) or Option Fn F9 (Mac) to view data tags in Microsoft Word.
- Press Ctrl + Fn F9 (Windows) or Cmd + Fn F9 (Mac) at the Start/End of the clause to get the curly braces to paste the missing data tag.
- Paste the copied tag (from Step 3) in the correct position (within the curly braces).
- Remove any extra spaces on both sides of the tag, if present.
- Press Alt + Fn F9 (Windows) or Option Fn F9 (Mac) to toggle back to stop viewing the data tags. The document now should not be displaying any data tag or curly braces.
- Save the document.
- Click Continue to proceed.
