Associating an Attribute to an Attribute Group

Associating attributes to attribute groups is a crucial step in organizing product characteristics within the Conga platform. This association allows for a structured and systematic approach to managing product features, ensuring that each product is configured with the relevant attributes. By grouping attributes, you can simplify product management, improve filtering capabilities, and ensure that pricing and product information are aligned with customer requirements.

To associate an attribute to an attribute group

  1. Go to ADMIN SETUP > Product Administration > Attributes.
    The Attributes page is displayed.
  2. Click the Attribute Groups tab.
  3. Search for the attribute group to update.
  4. Click the attribute group name link to open the Attribute Group details page.
  5. Click the Attributes tab.
  6. Under Available Attribute Groups, you can see all attribute groups available in the org.
  7. In the Search Attribute box, enter keywords to search the attribute you want to associate with the attribute group.
  8. Hover the mouse on the required attribute and click + next to the attribute name. The product is associated with the product group and is displayed under the associated attributes section.
    Note:

    Hover the mouse on the required attribute and click the info icon next to the attribute name to display the description of the attribute.

  9. Create an attribute:
    • If the desired attribute does not exist, click Create New Attribute under the Available Attributes page.
    • The New Attribute page will be displayed.
    • Follow the steps in Creating an Attributeto configure the new attribute.
    • After configuring and saving the new attribute, return to the Associated Attributes page.
    • Search for the newly created attribute as described in step 7 and associate it with the attribute group.
  10. Turn the following settings on if required:

    Setting

    Description

    Is Read Only

    Indicates that the value of the attribute is not editable. The user cannot edit the value.

    Is Hidden

    Indicates that the attribute is not displayed on the configuration page. However, the attribute is associated with the attribute group.

    Is Primary

    Indicates that the attribute is critical and the attribute is displayed on the Installed Products page as a critical attribute.

  11. Click Save.
    Note:

    The Save button is enabled only when you make any changes to the associated attributes.

    Note:

    You can reorder the Attributes by moving the order icon up or down.

  12. To discard changes:
    1. Click Discard Changes.
    2. Click Don't Save in the alert pop-up.
