Best Practices for Creating Price List Items
- Always create at least one PLI for each product/price list combination you want to make available in the catalog. If a product doesn't have a PLI for a price list, it won't show up in the catalog page.
- Use effective/expiration dates to manage time-based pricing.
- Leverage price matrices and rulesets for advanced pricing scenarios (e.g., volume discounts, customer-specific pricing, contract pricing).
- Keep PLIs active unless you intentionally want to retire a price or product from a price list.
- Use bulk import/export tools (CSV/JSON) for large-scale PLI management, especially during initial implementation or mass updates.
- Having a Charge type criterion defined is good practice. Please define it especially in case of using more than one PLI for the same Product. In such cases, we can start with a common charge type and expand based on the requirements.
