Conga Billing for Advantage Platform 202501.2.0 Release Notes

In these release notes, you can find new features and enhancements and fixed and known issues for the Billing 202501.2.0 release. For documentation updates, see What's New in Billing Documentation.

Note:

New Features and Enhancements

The following features are new to Conga Billing in this release.

Supporting Proration During Amendment

Proration is now supported while pushing out the contract start date of a recurring product. You can now create prorated billing schedule records by setting the required configurations to True.

Supporting Pushing Out the Contract Dates for Evergreen Products

Conga billing supports the scenario where an evergreen product's start date has been delayed, and the dates are pushed out to keep the original term or price the same as before. This may have repercussions on the billing schedules created due to the auto-renewal functionality, and the API will now be able to create those schedules.

Supporting the Customization of Direct Milestone Custom Plans

You can now enforce the billing periods for every milestone by setting the value in the Periods Needed field to True and by entering period dates in the API input parameters.

Supporting Forecast billing for Change Operation

You can generate a forecast schedule for Change operation performed on the asset line items on a cart. The forecast schedules contain the changes to the billing schedules based on effective amendment dates mentioned on the line items.​

​Line items in Amended status and without any custom plans associated to them are picked up for forecasting.

Supporting Forecast Billing for Renewal

You can generate a forecast schedule for renewed asset line items on a cart. Forecast for renewed assets will create the Forecasted Schedules for the renewal period.

​The line items in Renewed status and without any custom plans associated to them are picked up for forecasting.

Supporting Forecast Billing for Canceled Assets

You can generate a forecast schedules for an asset that is either fully or partially canceled. The forecast schedules contain the refund or cancellation information about the billing schedules based on the cancellation date mentioned on the line items.

The line items in Canceled status and without any custom plans associated to them are picked up for forecasting. The Cancellation Date field for such line items must not be null.

Schedules in Pending Billing status are picked up for generating forecast billing summary.

Support for Creation, Cloning, Activating, and Inactivating Custom Plan Templates from the UI

You can now create, clone, activate, or inactivate a custom plan template from the user interface.

Supporting Viewing and Editing of Billing Schedule Details

.You can now view and edit the billing schedules details from the Related list of the associated billing schedule records.

Support for Cloning a Preference

You have the ability to clone a billing preference from the Preference Details page on the user interface.

Direct Term-based Custom Plans with Period Needed set to On or Off

You can now create direct term-based custom plans with the Period Needed field set to On or Off for One-Time or Recurring products. The direct plans are in Active status when created.

Supporting Multiple Amendments on an Asset

Conga Billing now supports multiple amendments on an asset with or without a calendar cycle start for a Monthly or Quarterly billing frequency.

Supporting "None" as a Value for Calendar Cycle Start

You can now choose None as a valid value in the Billing Preference for the Calendar Cycle Start field.

Supporting Forecast Billing with Order ID and Product Configuration ID

The forecast billing API is enhanced, allowing you to forecast the billing with Order ID and Product Configuration ID in addition to forecasting with order line items or CPQ line items. The forecast billing schedule records reference the parent record ID.

The Implementation team can use the following API for forecast billing:

Supporting Quantity Changes of a Product or Service

Conga Billing now supports a change in the quantity of recurring and standalone products or services. The change in quantity indirectly affects the pricing of a product or service. Quantity changes can be implemented at the start or in the middle of a period.

Supporting Direct Price Changes

Direct price changes to a product or service include offering discounts, adding a markup, service upgrades, or downgrades.

Launching Billing Management User Interface on the Conga Platform

Click the Billing Apps on the Conga Platform to access the Billing Management UI.

The Billing Headers page is displayed when you click the Billing Headers icon on the left panel. This page enables you to access the list of billing headers and perform activities like searching, filtering, sorting, view settings, and pagination.

Billing admin can now navigate to the Billing Settings page on the Billing Management UI to configure the application service in the right way.

Supporting Creation of Forecast Billing Summary

The forecast billing API is enhanced, allowing you to generate the forecast billing summary. The forecast billing summary is generated based on the value of the Forecast Billing Summary Criterion configured in the billing settings.

The Implementation team can use the following API to generate the forecast billing summary:https://<URL_of_the_Instance>/api/billing/v1/schedules/forecast

Viewing the Billing Header Details

Billing users can now navigate to and view the billing header details by clicking the billing header ID on the UI. The Details page has four sections containing all the available fields.

Support for Viewing, Creating, and Editing the Billing Preference and its Details

You can navigate to the Preferences page to view, create, or edit a billing preferences. Clicking any of the preference links takes you to the preference Details page displaying all the available fields. You can also create and edit a preference from the Preferences page on the UI.

Support for Retrieving the Forecast Records with Proposal ID, Order ID, Product Configuration ID, Order Line Item ID, or LineItem ID

The forecast billing API is enhanced, allowing you to retrieve the forecast records with Proposal ID, order ID, product configuration ID, order line items ID, or line items ID.

The Implementation team can use the following API for forecast billing:

Support for Viewing the Billing Schedule Records and its Details

You can click the Schedule Record under Details in the left panel to see the list view of all the billing schedule records (BSRs) under a billing header. Clicking any of the schedule records takes you to the schedule record's details page.

Supporting Indirect Price Changes

Conga Billing now supports scenarios where changing the contract term causes an indirect change to the price.
