Preview: CLM for Advantage Platform 202609.2.0 Release Notes

In these release notes, you can find enhancements and fixed and known issues for the CLM 202609.2.0 release. For documentation updates, see What's New in CLM Documentation.

Note:

This documentation may describe optional enhancements for which you have not purchased a license; therefore your solution or implementation may differ from what is described here. Contact your customer success manager (CSM) or account executive (AE) to discuss your specific enhancements and licensing.

Enhancements

The following enhancements are new to CLM in this release.

Exclude Expired and Terminated Contracts from Duplicate Contract Request Checks

The duplicate detection process for contract requests now excludes contracts with a status of Expired or Terminated, allowing new requests for the same counterparty without warnings or blocks when prior contracts are no longer active. Only agreements in active or in-progress statuses are considered for duplicate checks, and this rule applies consistently across single, bundled, API, and bulk contract requests in both warn-only and block enforcement modes. For more information, see Creating a Contract Request, Approving a Contract Request, Converting an Approved Contract Request, and Configuring Duplicate Checks for Contract Requests.

Conversation Thread Read Status Update for Record Owners

When record owners open a conversation thread they initiated, participated in, were mentioned in, or that belongs to a record they own, the thread is now automatically marked as read and moved from the Unread tab to All Conversations. This update applies to all record owners and authorized users with permission to access the thread.

Automatic Clause Comparison at Contract Execution

This enhancement compares each executed contract clause with its corresponding approved standard clause from the Clause Library and provides a similarity score. The score is stored in the Semantic Similarity Score field on the Contract Clause object and is available for reporting. Clauses without a matching standard clause are skipped and do not receive a score. For more information, see Clause Comparison and Similarity Analysis.

Microsoft IDP SSO Authentication Update for Conga Dynamics Connector

The Conga Dynamics Connector now supports an enhanced SSO authentication process with Microsoft Identity Provider (IDP), resolving previous authentication failures and providing a more reliable sign-on experience. Users can authenticate seamlessly using Microsoft IDP SSO with the updated connector.

Document Protection for Simple Review Documents

Administrators can enable Document Protection Setup for manual reviews in the modern user interface to control editing permissions for outbound review copies. Supported protection levels include Tracked Changes Only, Comments Only, and Read Only.

When users send documents for review, protection is applied to Word documents before they are distributed. This ensures that reviewer edits are visible and prevents untracked changes. Non-Word files are sent without protection, with appropriate notifications.

Document protection applies only to documents sent as email attachments. For more information, see Sending a Contract for Review (Modern UI).

Clone Progress Loader and Action Restriction for Large Contract Cloning

The system now displays a cloning progress indicator and restricts contract actions, such as delete, generate document, activate, amend, and submit for approval, until all line items, obligations, and child records are fully cloned. This update prevents incomplete data and ensures that business operations on cloned contracts are only available after the cloning process is complete.

When deleting a contract request that is part of a bundle, the delete confirmation modal now displays a table listing all related draft requests that will also be deleted, including the Name, Contract Type, and Description. For more information, see Deleting a Contract Request.

Permit Delegation Credential Confirmation for O365 Review Submission

When administrators enable the Permit Delegation setting, users submitting contracts for O365 review in the modern user interface are prompted to confirm their O365 credentials in a modal dialog before the review is initiated. The system validates the entered credentials, allowing the review to proceed only if authentication is successful; invalid credentials display an inline error and block submission. If credentials have already been validated in the current session or if the setting is disabled, the confirmation prompt is bypassed, and the standard review flow continues. For more information, see Sending a Contract for Review (Modern UI).

Document Group Editing Restriction for Regenerated and Child Documents

Editing the Document Group is now restricted to only the parent document in contracts containing multiple instances of the same document added through the Regenerate process. Child or regenerated documents no longer display the Edit option for Document Group updates, preventing unintended changes across related documents and allowing independent management of document group associations. For more information, see Editing the Document Group of a Contract Document.

Document Version Retention During Contract Activation

Users can now select which document versions, including both major and minor versions, to retain when activating a contract in Conga CLM. The activation screen displays all document versions in a hierarchical tree view, allowing granular selection, and only the chosen documents are preserved post-activation; all others are deleted. The Activate API also supports specifying version-specific document IDs for retention, and a confirmation dialog summarizes the impact before proceeding. For more information, see Activating a Contract Manually.

Smart CPQ Integration with Conga CLM

This release delivers a bi-directional integration between PROS Smart CPQ and Conga CLM within Microsoft Dynamics, enabling administrators to configure header- and line-level field mappings via Workato recipes, customize automated contract status write-back rules, manage environment-specific URL deep links, set up seamless Single Sign-On (SSO), and run the integration concurrently alongside standard Opportunity-to-Contract workflows. For more information, see Smart CPQ Integration with Conga CLM.

For end users, the integration provides one-click contract and account creation directly from an accepted Smart CPQ quote, automatic re-synchronization of line items when quote details change, full lifecycle contract management within an embedded Dynamics interface without re-authenticating, seamless bi-directional navigation between quotes and contracts, and real-time visibility into contract milestones directly from the quote record. For more information, see Smart CPQ Integration with Conga CLM.

Standalone Procurement Agreement Creation and SAP Ariba Integration

Contract managers can now create a standalone procurement agreement directly in Conga CLM without referencing a sourcing event or contract request. They can select Procurement Agreement as the contract type and choose the new Publish to SAP Ariba option. When selected, Conga CLM requires the Supplier, Region, Spend Category, and Business Unit. The system also tags the contract as a Standalone Procurement Agreement for reporting in SAP Ariba environment.

After the contract is fully signed, Conga CLM automatically creates a new Contract Workspace in SAP Ariba and transfers the executed contract PDF and key contract details. The SAP Ariba Contract Workspace ID is added to the contract record, and the contract manager receives a confirmation notification. For more information, see SAP Ariba Workspace Integration.

Contract Request Notification Template Updates

This enhancement updates contract request notification templates with consistent date formatting, standardized labels, shortened URLs, support for the Reason/Comments label, and additional tags for custom email templates. For more information, see Email Template Creation.
