Parameterizing PROS Pricing
The PROS Pricing is defined in the ‘Edit Workspace > PricingPRO integration’ section of the Designer.
For each product, PPSS or RTPE will output the pricing variant corresponding to the input aliases defined in the PROS Pricing object.
The PROS Pricing Method allows defining the mapping between the PROS PO pricing structure (or RTPE dimensions) and the CPQ aliases that may affect the resulting prices.
The PROS Pricing method is made of:
- System Properties
PROS Pricing System Properties stores:
- The ID of the PROS PRODUCT dimension name
- The UPLOAD CODE of the price list to be called on PO / RTPE side
- The evaluation method of the price list
- In the case of a PPSS pricing logic it is either a lookup or an evaluation on the fly. For RTPE it can only be an evaluation on the fly.
- The Unit of Measure passed by CPQ when requesting PO / RTPE to get prices
- The Application Date passed by CPQ when requesting PO / RTPE to get prices
- The Currency passed by CPQ when requesting PO / RTPE to get prices
- Input Aliases
Input Aliases allows mapping CPQ CPEs with input parameters of PO and RTPE. We define two types of input:
- Dimensions: to provide dimension parameters to PO / RTPE.
- Evaluation Method Element: to provide Evaluation Method Elements to PPSS or Override values to RTPE.
For example, the ‘CUSTOMER’ PO / RTPE Dimension can correspond to the CPE ‘CPE.Settings.Session.CustomerId’
- Output Price Ranges
- Final Prices are only applicable in the case of a PPSS integration. It is not applicable to RTPE.
Output Price Ranges section allows connecting a numeric information (final price, benchmark or price element) returned by PO / RTPE with a price range in CPQ.
A CPQ Price Range MUST BE mapped with either a Final Price or a PO / RTPE Price Element/Benchmark which is of a numeric or monetary type.
For example,
- Range[1] can correspond to the final price returned by PO
- Range[2] can correspond to the ‘TargetPrice’ benchmark
- Range[3] can correspond to the ‘ExpertPrice’ benchmark
- …
- Output Elements
Output Elements section allows connecting an information (final price, benchmark or price element) returned by PO / RTPE with an element in CPQ.
A CPQ Price Element can be mapped with a PO / RTPE Price Element/Benchmark of any type
For example Segment can correspond to the segment benchmark returned by PO / RTPE
Please note:
Output Elements are only available in the configuration or catalog. They are not sent along SBLs to the quote.
To retrieve a price or element of a CPQ Product by using the PROS Pricing Method, the CPQ Engine will call PO or RTPE as follows:
- The price computation will comply with the selected evaluation method (LookUp or Evaluation) and prices will be looked up in the price list identified by its upload code
- The name of the CPQ Product will be sent as the selected value of the PROS Product Dimension
- Each dimension corresponding to an input alias will be filled before calling the PO / RTPE module
- The unit of measure code will be used in PO / RTPE (UoM codes in PO and CPQ must be similar). If none is filled in the Designer, “EA” (Each) UoM is used. In CPQ Designer, the Unit of Measure can be:
- A raw value entered manually (pay attention that the code must be known by PPSS / RTPE)
- A CPE. By default, there is no CPE defined but it can be done with the embedded CPE Editor (e.g. CPE.currentItem.unit.name, CPE.WS2/CP/CP3.CP/CP4.FO/F4.FP/FPObjectType.unit.name, CPE.currentFP.unit.name, CPE.SI/SI1.unit.name, etc.)
- The currency code filled in the Designer under the form of a CPE will be used in PPSS / RTPE (Currency codes in PO / RTPE and CPQ must be similar). If none is filled, CPE.Settings.Session.Currency is used. In CPQ Designer, the Currency can be a CPE.
- The application date filled in the Designer under the form of a CPE is used (Date format in PO / RTPE and CPQ must be similar). If none is filled, the CPE.Settings.Session.ApplicationDate is used instead.
The global execution of the Pricing method is controlled by the ‘Must Exist’ and ‘Must Be Answered’ flag as in a standard CPQ product pricing grid.
