Design - Collaboration Portal Templates
Overview
When first configuring the Collaborative Quoting feature via the Collaboration Portal Designer application, you should choose the template option to start with a default, responsive website template that contains default page elements, colors and fonts and includes the list of products and quote totals for the collaborative quoting microsites that will be generated each time sales users send quotes for collaboration and review with their customers.
Once you have created a new collaboration portal model, the Design view is used to select which template you want to use to configure the collaboration portal, also referred to as a microsite (the website that is generated automatically by PROS Smart CPQ services which displays the online representation of the quote in CPQ based on the data model defined).
Selecting a PROS Template
Selecting a template will speed up the configuration steps and process for the Collaborative Quoting feature with a set of smart defaults for page layouts, components, and the styling of the collaboration portal. You will still need to configure the data model and sources, which views and components to use for the collaboration portal microsite for each quote that is shared through CPQ.
To select a template:
- Click on the Template section in the Design left pane
- Click on Choose Template
- Select the Pros Template 1 (currently only one template exists, more templates may be added in future releases)
- Click Ok. The PROS Template 1 is now set for the design of the eCommerce site or microsite.
From this point, you can begin to configure the page layout, data sources and elements, and the localized translation text for international language support for each of the components of the collaboration portal. The design settings for each component section are broken out into separate design pages as observed in the left Design pane under the Components section heading:
As indicated above, the Design menu in the left pane is used to configure the page layout, data sources, and translations for the collaboration portal user interface (also known as the microsite design) for Collaborative Quoting. It allows you define some settings, the visual look and feel of the collaboration portal website, data sources for the Quote Product List View and other widgets, and how the product catalog will be displayed when a user is searching or browsing for products and services from the product catalog.
The different elements are presented in a tree structure in the left Design pane. When a template or component is selected, you see the details on the right.
