Knowing where to log in
The login page of the Designer is accessible by launching the following URL:
http://cpq_server:cpq_port/CPQDesigner/Login.do
After doing so, you will see the following login page:
Understanding the login process
In order to log in, you will need to provide your credentials.
CHOOSE YOUR WORKGROUP
The first field in the login screen will ask you for your workgroup.
By default, the workgroup Cameleon Software will be created. We invite you to create a new workgroup, which will hold your specific information.
For more information about workgroups, please refer to Administer Workgroups.
ENTER YOUR USER NAME
The second field in the login screen will ask you for your user name.
A user name is the identifier that you provide in order to connect to the application. Users are specific to a workgroup, meaning that different users can have the same user name if they belong to different workgroups.
If you don’t remember your user name, please contact your PROS administrator.
By default, after installation, a user with the name cameleon will be automatically created for you. This user will have administrative rights, and you can use it in order to construct your own workgroups.
ENTER YOUR PASSWORD
The third field in the login screen will ask you for your password.
A password is used to verify that the user “is who he says he is”. Passwords are encrypted and are stored in the Designer database.
The default password associated with the cameleon user is leon.
Connecting using a specific workspace and language
As of version 8.0, it is possible to log into the application using a specific workspace and language. To log in using a workgroup “myCompany” using the English language, proceed as follows:
http://cpq_server:cpq_port/CPQDesigner/Login.do?workgroup=myCompany&language=English
To log in using a workgroup “myCompany” using the French language, proceed as follows:
http://cpq_server:cpq_port/CPQDesigner/Login.do?workgroup=myCompany&language=French
Customizing the login process
It is possible to externalize the user name and password check through an external application, such as an LDAP system. In this case, a class must be written that complies with certain standards. Please contact PROS Customer Support for more information.
