Constraining Behavior

Constraining Behavior The step Constrain will now allow you to add Filtering BRC to the Business Property Set.

Tip: Filtering BRC, as opposed to Domain BRC, will enable you to dynamically control the relationship between 2 or more business properties. Once an answer has been given for one or more business properties, the filtering BRC will indicate which answers are compatible or incompatible on the related business properties.

In order to add a constraint (a filtering BRC) to the current Business Property Set, proceed as follows:

How-To:

[Via the ‘Explore Structure’ explorer]

  • Select the Business Property Set.
    • A table for that object will appear in the working area.

Add all necessary CPE by either one of the following possibilities: [Using the “Explore CPE” explorer]

  • Click on the “Explore CPE’s” explorer tab.
  • Drag and drop each CPE that is involved in the BRC to an empty table row in the working area.
    • Each time a CPE is dropped on an empty line, a new empty line is created in the table [Using the CPE Builder]
  • Click on the ‘Constraints overview’ table cell to which you would like to add a CPE
  • [In the popup]

Use the combobox in order to construct the CPE and validate the CPE by clicking on OK.

[For each CPE added to the table]

Check its type and update it if necessary. [In the table]

  • Add a BRC using the column-based method
  • Tick all involved CPE for the BRC column [In the menu toolbar] Execute the “Save” function
