Concept
This process aims to set up manufacturing processes, each process defining a Bill of Material (BOM) associated to a Configuration Process.
The Designer allows you to define a manufacturing bill of material, which defines a product as it is built.
The Designer allows you to define a configurable bill of material, which allows expressing a constraints- and rules-based approach to structure a generic bill of material covering every product variant producible by a Configuration Process.
In order to design a Manufacturing Process, the following steps can be used:
- The BOM Structure step is used to create the hierarchical tree-structure putting together all manufacturing standard items and raw material into sub-assemblies gathered together into a Manufacturing Process
- The BOM Links step is used to provide details about the usage of each component in its parent component
- The Routing step allows defining different Routings for a Manufacturing Process as well as the associated operations
- The Codification step allows identifying and describing the to-be-manufactured components
- The Matching step allows identifying existing standard items that match a Manufacturing Process
- All the Business Information (BIG) defining technical data associated to Manufacturing Processes or Operations can be defined and completed in the BIG Dictionary step
- All the BRC which are used in the previous steps can be defined and completed in the BRC Dictionary step
- All information described in the previous steps can be translated in the Translate step
