Accessibility
Pros focuses on making Smart CPQ accessible to disabled users by complying with W3C standards in terms of navigation and location in its user interfaces. Many of these features are optimized and integrated into the Smart CPQ interface.
Screen Reader Management
Landmarks recognized by screen readers have been added to the user interface. They guide the user through the structure of the application, by sound identification of all useful areas, components, actions, and selectors. The landmarks also give direct access to the main areas of the screen such as navigation, spreadsheet, and input fields.
Navigation Features
The following features have been added for easy navigation.
BYPASS LINK
When opening a page in the application, you can press TAB to display a Bypass Link component.
This is a focused area on the page header that shows the "Go to navigation" action. By
pressing ENTER, this gives direct access to the navigation component of the application and avoids the need to navigate through the components in the page header.
You can also press TAB a second time to display a second Bypass Link. This is a second area in focus in the page header that shows the "Go to content" action which gives you direct access to the priority content area defined in the interface and selection. The first component of this zone will then be selected so that it can interact freely.
KEYBOARD KEYS
Following W3C accessibility standards, keyboard navigation is optimized. You can navigate freely and seamlessly through the Performance Quoting interface using the standard keys on their keyboard:
- TAB – Navigates to the next selector or next editable field.
- SHIFT TAB – Navigates to the previous selector or a previous editable field.
- Directional arrows (left, right, up, down) – Moves through the spreadsheet and the drop-down menus.
- Space bar – Opens menus, selects a spreadsheet cell and validates actions.
- Enter – Opens menus and validates actions.
- Esc – Exits input fields and resets action.
FOCUS
For instinctive tracking and to amplify the interaction between the user and the interface, focuses have been added to the navigation and selection keyboard keys, surrounding each interface components during navigation and component selection.
ICONS
For a better perception of actions in Performance Quoting, icon sizes for editing cells have been increased.
COLORS & CONTRAST
The colors and contrasts of the components, texts, and selectors have been optimized to comply with the contrast rates recommended by the W3C. In order to further expand the possibilities of visual accessibility, we recommend the use of contrast management plug-ins in web browsers.
