Sections
Smart Document allows the user to create sections in the document that you can choose to display or hide in the generated document depending on quote information. To do so, the user will use the Add Section function.
Section is also the object that allows the user to unlock parts of content when the editing restriction is in place.
How to Insert a Section
If there is no active selection the content is the paragraph containing the cursor. If a selection is active the content is all the paragraphs included in the selection.
The section is composed by two tags surrounding the content. The 'begin section' tag is inserted in a new paragraph before the content. The 'end section' tag is inserted in a new paragraph after the content.

How to Edit a Section
To edit a section the cursor must be positioned on the the tag in the Word part of the document. In the add-in the user must click on the edit button as below:
The edit section component allows to:
If the document is configured as a locked document in the settings, the user can use section to allow edition of the content.
- Change the name of the section (except the fixed “#Type_ID_” section).
- Set conditions to define the visibility of the content in the generated document. These conditions can be based on:
- Field values from a view/component
- Column values from parent data context
- System values such as line template, depth...

- Enable editing on the section
If the user has locked the Word document for editing with a password in the Settings tab, they can decide to unlock a section so users can have editing permissions inside of the section only.
In the Allow editing tab, the user will need to tick the box for Enable editing of the section content and then save it.

How to Delete a Section
To delete a section the user can:
- delete the sub-template tag on the Word document side.
- click on the delete button in the Edit section panel
Limitations
Sections cannot be placed in header and footer of the Word document. A section can’t override the edit right assigned by a parent section.
Section tags must not be followed by line break or page break.
