Testing a Test Step

After you have created a test step, you must test it before adding the same to a test case.

Note that if the response body type is FILE, then when you test the Test Step in the Response Body panel you can download the response file to your local folder. Provide a file name and extension of your choice.

  1. On the Test Author home page, do one of the following to view a list of test steps that are already created.
    • Click Test Step in the right pane.
    • Go to Design > Test Step in the left pane.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click the More icon () next to the name of the test step and click Test. Go to step 4.
    • Click the name of the test step.
  3. Review the test case details and click Test.
  4. Do one of the following:
    1. For the Non-Conga API template, use Quick Find to select the environment. Only those environments which are in Active state are listed in the search results. Go to step 5.
    2. For the Conga API template, complete the following:
      1. Use Quick Find to select the environment. Only those environments that are in Active state are listed in the search results.
      2. Select the user from the drop-down list.
      3. Click the paste icon if the access token is already generated. The token is copied in the Access Token (App Trust) text box. You can also use the token generated using Postman.
  5. Click Run.
  6. Review the response status, header, and body to know the status of the test step.
  7. In the Response Body tab, enter a file name with an extension in the File Download field and click Download.
