New Features
The following is a summary of features introduced in the Winter 2019 release.
Bi-Directional Data Sync Between Microsoft Dynamics and Apttus Instances
The Apttus-Dynamics 365 Connector provides a user interface administrator tool that allows administrators to perform synchronizations of master data at regular, scheduled intervals between Microsoft Dynamics and Apttus instances. The connector exists entirely in your Microsoft Dynamics instance and requires configuration of a plug-in as well as processes for scheduling. Note: Data sync is bi-directional for more than one object, but each object can only be synced in a single direction. For example, you can set up a sync group to sync the Agreement object and its fields from Apttus to Dynamics, but you cannot at the same time set up another sync group to sync the Agreement object and its fields from Dynamics to Apttus.
Object and Field Mapping
The Apttus-Dynamics 365 Connector provides a feature that allows you to map objects and fields between Dynamics and Apttus to set up relationships for data synchronizations.
Setting up Sync Groups
The Apttus-Dynamics 365 connector provides a feature that allows you to set up Sync Groups. Sync groups specify the group of fields that must be synced at the same frequency from the same source-destination combination.
Data Sync Scheduling
Data Sync is managed by setting up a process in MS Dynamics that schedules data synchronizations at specified intervals. For each process, administrators must execute the initial process manually, then use the configured scheduler logic to execute data sync at the specified intervals. The data sync frequency is set for each sync group, which consists of one or more entities.
Exporting and Importing Data Sync Configurations
Using Microsoft Dynamic's built-in export/import functionality, you can export a configuration from one environment and import it into another environment (for example, copy connections, mappings, and sync groups from a development instance to production).
Data Sync Run History and Error Handling
The Apttus-Dynamics 365 connector provides a feature that allows you to view the run history for all of your data syncs, including error messages and warnings that were generated during each process.
