New Features
The following features are new to CPQ in this release.
Enhancements to the New UI
The CPQ May 2016 version has the following enhancements to the New UI.
Disallow add another instance of a Product on the Catalog
You can now disable the Add to Cart and Configure buttons for any product on the Catalog page to limit the user from adding another instance of the same product to the Cart. A new custom setting named Disable Add Another, available at Setup > Develop > Custom Settings > Config Select Product Settings > Manage > Primary Settings has been added to achieve this functionality. When you select this check box, the Add to Cart and Configure buttons are greyed out after you add such product for the first time.
Display attributes on the Cart
Now, the attributes configured for any of the products appear in a collapsible and expandable format. When you click the [+] sign, the attributes and their corresponding values are displayed in a 'name: value' form. The attributes for which you select the Is Primary check box on the Attribute Configuration page are called critical attributes. Only the critical attributes are shown in the Product Attributes section on the Cart.
Product sequencing using orderByClause parameter in the configure product button
With this release, Apttus has introduced orderByClause parameter that you can use to sequence the products on the Catalog page. You can add a new field in the Product2 object named as Category Rank and set the orderByClause in this manner: productOrderByClause=Category_Rank__C NULLS LAST, Name.
Multi-language support for Product fields
Using multi-language support, you can display your own language translations for any field of the Product object.
Enhancements to Quote Collaboration
Assign the collaboration request to User or Queue
You can assign the collaboration request to a user or to a SFDC queue. A radio button on the collaboration pop-up enables you to choose between the two and then you can search for the name of the user or queue through the lookup.
Chatter on collaboration requests
A chatter feed is now enabled on each collaboration pop-up. The feed is in the context of a single collaboration request and it can be accessed through a new tab on the collaboration pop-up.
Configurable collaboration dashboard and pop up
From this release onward, users can configure their collaboration pop-up and dashboard to quickly view the status of different collaboration requests.
Real-time notifications on the Cart
Sales rep sees a notification pop-up on the top right side of the screen when a collaboration request is submitted, completed, accepted and merged in the parent cart.
Smart Search (Beta)
The new Smart Search provides much faster product search results, type-ahead mechanism, and faceted search to help narrow the product search results. This feature is released as a beta version.
Enhancements to Asset-Based Ordering
Enhancement to ABO Integration with Contracts
While renewing one or more assets associated with a contract on the Installed products page, the corresponding Agreement Line Items for these renewed Asset Line Items are reflected in the Contract. The Asset IDs remain the same during the renewal process.
When you Renew or Change an asset, the status of the renewed or changed Asset Line Item shows as Cancelled and the status of the Asset Line Item which is being renewed or changed shows as New on the Cart page. For example, if you change Product A with Product B, the status of Product A changes to Cancelled on the Cart page and that of Product B changes to New.
Viewing inline attributes
You can now view the inline attributes, thus differentiating the various assets and line items on the Installed products page and Cart page.
Renewal uplift
You can now specify the renewal uplift amount during the initial sale to calculate the Net price on the Renewal Cart including the uplift.
Start Date validation for Swap action
For the Swap action for an asset, if the Start Date of the swapped asset is a future date, a validation message is displayed to enter a valid Start Date. For example, an asset A with Start Date = 1 Jan, 2017 and End Date = 31 Jan, 2017 is swapped with a product B on June 5, 2016. Instead of taking June 6, 2016 as Start Date for product B, the system shows a validation message that the End Date of product B should be after the Start Date of product A.
Populate the Delta Quantity and Delta Price on the Quote/Proposal
Two new fields called Delta Quantity and Delta Price are available with this release on the Cart page. You can view and specify the values in these fields before you finalize a Quote/Proposal.

These field values are expressed as a user-configured key that determines the desired proposal clause content during document generation.
