New Features

The following features are new to CPQ in this release.

New Enhanced CPQ User Interface

{NOT 100% BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE, MEANT FOR SANDBOX ENVIRONMENT ONLY}
The CPQ November 2015 version has major enhancements to the new user interface (UI) designed with the AngularJS framework, leading to a better and faster user experience.
Column alignment and styling
The new UI now takes the entire space across the shopping cart to display properly aligned columns, buttons, and the mini cart. The colors and styling of the columns and buttons have been improved for a richer experience.
Sequencing the Line Items on the Cart
Now, you can reorder the line items for a bundle and standalone product on the Shopping Cart using the drag and drop functionality. You can either reorder the line items on the same page or even move the line items to another page if there are number of products. This helps the user to group the products along with their line items as per the product type (bundle or standalone).
Installed products indicator next to the product
With the new release, next to each product which has been purchased by your customer, a small indicator, with the label "Installed" is displayed on the Catalog page. This is used to differentiate between the products which have already been purchased and products which are new on the Catalog page. Earlier, you could view the installed products only by clicking the Installed Products on the Catalog page. This improves usability by cautioning the user from purchasing an already installed product.
Approvals for a Quote/Proposal configured using the new UI
Now, Advanced Approvals is supported with all the Quote/Proposals configured in the new AngularJS CPQ User Interface without any extra configuration. You can configure an approval process over the Product Configuration object and submit a quote for approval from the Cart page of the new CPQ UI by clicking Submit for Approval. Approvals is required when your sales rep wants to give higher discounts to the customers and requires approval for the same.
Custom setting to display all the leaf nodes on the Catalog page
The new UI now supports the custom setting Always Display Leaf Nodes to load and display all its leaf nodes for a specific category. These leaf nodes have products associated with them. With this feature, it's easier for a sales representative to just click the main category or any sub category to load all the sub-categories (products) at one click. This feature is already available in the Enterprise CPQ. Configure this setting at Setup > Develop > Custom Settings > Config Select Product Settings.
Custom setting to display attributes for options in the tabular format
Product option attributes are now visible on the Product option page in the new UI. When Show Tab View is enabled from the Config System Properties, product attributes and option groups are shown in the tabular format.
Multi-level or nested bundle configurations
The new UI provides enhanced capabilities to process multi-level nested bundles along with cloning for sub-bundles. Users also have the flexibility to choose between a tab-view vs. single page view per their business needs.
Multiple adjustments at the line level
You can now apply multiple adjustments at the line level. This enhances functionality for users where users want to apply multiple adjustments to get to the final price for a line item.
Mix and match Visualforce pages
With the new Angular UI, you can mix and match existing custom Visualforce pages.

Attribute-Based Configuration

The CPQ November 2015 version has major enhancements to attribute-based configuration, leading to a better and faster user experience.
Ability to configure attributes from Product Console
Now, you can configure attributes from Product Console when you have many attributes. Instead of selecting the attributes from the picklist menu, now you can type in the attribute name using a type-ahead.
Ability to type in the Constraint Rules Criteria Condition and Actions
Now, you can type in the constraint rule criteria condition and action using a type-ahead, instead of selecting them from the picklist menu.
Ability to type in the Product Attribute Rules
Now, you can type in the product attribute rule using a type-ahead, instead of selecting them from the picklist menu.
Ability to type in the Product Attribute Matrix
Now, you can type in the product attribute matrix using a type-ahead, instead of selecting them from the picklist menu.
Attribute-based Configuration Rules
Product Modelers now have new rules capabilities to make attributes

  • Hidden/Visible
  • Read-Only
  • Required

You can also write rules to assign attributes value as Default or reset UI controls. Also, you can create "Attribute Value Matrix" to constraint or default dependent attribute values across multiple attribute values. These features provide greater control over complex rule definition in a more simplified manner and make sales teams more effective in building optimal configurations for customers.

Managing Coupons

With Apttus Promotions Management, you can now create multiple coupon codes for potential customers to promote your business and specific products in your inventory.
After you identify potential end customers in a target market, you can use coupons to track how customers use incentives, how you can optimize your promotions, and how you can re-target your customers. You can generate multiple coupon codes to share the range with your marketing team.

Rebate Management

Apttus Incentive Management now includes the Rebates functionality. You can identify rebate programs with your customers and process rebates to add to your Incentives strategy.

Product Summary Dialog box on the Catalog page

On the Product Catalog page, Product Summary dialog box is shown when you click a specific product. This dialog box lists the Product Code, Product Description, and whether the product has attributes and options associated with it. Click anywhere outside the dialog box to close it.
