Conga Sign provides easy and robust recipient authentication options to add an extra layer of protection to your online transactions. You can select various ways of authenticating the recipient's identity of an invitation to a transaction before allowing them access to the transaction's documents. You can configure the following types of authentication:

General Authentication

The term General authentication refers to Conga Sign's built-in methods for authenticating a recipient's identity.

If you want to assign an SMS or Q&A method to a recipient, please contact Conga Support team to enable that authentication method for your account.

To configure General authentication method for a transaction recipient

  1. Open the relevant transaction from the Transaction List page.
  2. Go to the Recipients section.
  3. Click Add Recipient or locate existing recipient whose authentication you want to change.
  4. Click the More icon (), and click Settings.
  5. Select the Authentication tab.
  6. Ensure that the selected Type is General.
  7. Select one of the following authentication methods, and then follow any prompts that appear:
    1. None: This is the default authentication type. The recipient's identity is verified by their name and password when they log in to their email account.
    2. SMS: The recipient's identity is verified by a secure SMS code sent to their cellphone. The recipient must enter that code to open the transaction.
    3. Q&A: The recipient's identity is verified using a secure question & answer defined by the sender. At least one question & answer is required. Once the recipient launches the Signer Experience, they will be prompted to answer these questions.
