Test IdP Integration

OVERVIEW

This document describes how to test a successful Identity Provider integration with the Application Portal.

TEST 1: LOG IN TO APPLICATION PORTAL

Log in using the correct username format to the Application Portal. The following screenshot uses an example format with @example.com suffix. Make sure to test all username formats if more than one username formats is configured.

There is also an alternative way to test the signing in: append the provided username format to the Application Portal URL with the iam query parameter. This will navigate you directly to your Identity Provider to sign in. Example: https://login.<realm>[email protected] (In your actual URL, replace realm with the appropriate the Application Portal realm.)

TEST 2: VERIFY USER DETAILS APPEAR ON THE HOME PAGE

Verify the following:

  • The welcome banner shows the signed in user's first name.
  • The preferred display name is shown on top right corner drop-down.

TEST 3: VERIFY ACCESS TO THE ADMIN TAB

Before verifying this step, at least one group from your Identity Provider must be configured with the Application Portal Tenant Admin role. If this has not been done, contact Conga support and provide the name of the group. Please note that the group will require admin privileges.

Members of the groups mapped to the Tenant Admin role of the Application Portal should have access to the admin tab of the Application Portal. Note that the Tenant Admin role is available for only the primary Identity Provider when more than one Identity Provider is integrated. Read more about Roles & Groups and Admin Settings.

TEST 4: VERIFY ROLES & GROUPS ASSIGNMENT

Verify that the groups are properly assigned to each application role for which they were intended.

TEST 5: VERIFY SINGLE LOGOUT (SLO)

Verify logging out will log you out from the Application Portal and the Identity Provider. If SLO is not supported by the Identity Provider, or if you want to disable Identity Provider logout, please contact Conga support.
