Known limitations

OPEN SEVERAL SMART CPQ UI SESSIONS IN THE SAME WEB BROWSER

Several Smart CPQ UI sessions can't be opened on the same web browser (Cart, Catalog, or Configurator). With Performance Quoting, this limitation is not valid anymore except if a catalog or a configurator UI session is opened.

This limitation is valid for web browser multi-tabs:

This is also for multi-tabs in CRMs like Salesforce:

MINIMAL SCREEN RESOLUTION

For an optimized rendering of the SellingPRO Designer, we recommend a minimal screen resolution of 1280x720.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

In order to obtain an optimized sizing recommendation corresponding to a concurrent user environment, and respecting specific performance requirements, an audit will have to be conducted by PROS Customer Services.

Device Support

Smart CPQ Managed Package (SFDC) and Solution (MS Dynamics) are able to provide a different UI based on user device. Please see the corresponding product documentation for more details.

There are currently three types of devices:

  • Desktop
  • Tablets
  • Phones

Some differences exist in the way Smart CPQ supports devices depending on the modules and processes that are implemented. See below:

MODULE SUPPORTED DEVICES
Smart CPQ With Performance Quoting Performance Quoting UI is based on a responsive design that adapts itself to tablet and desktop screens by providing a good user experience. Performance Quoting is thus compatible with both desktop and tablets at the condition that they run on a supported web browser version (see chapter below). Note that Performance Quoting UI embeds widgets that can surface Catalog, Configurator, as well as external app UIs and those User Interfaces need to be implemented in a way that is compatible with both type of devices. Performance Quoting UI does not support smartphones form factors.
Sales Agreements add-on Mobile devices are not supported yet.
MODULE SUPPORTED DEVICES
Smart CPQ Without Performance Quoting Smart CPQ is compatible with mobile devices (tablets and smartphones), with the condition that they run on a supported web browser version (see chapter below). Please note that for SFDC, since the Summer Release 2020, Salesforce does not allow mobile devices to open up SFDC in a browser. Only the Salesforce mobile app can be used. Smart CPQ delivers a standard layout and theme which is optimized and supported for tablets and desktops. PROS does not deliver or support a standard theme for smartphones. Defining and maintaining a layout and theme for phones is project-based. The mobile devices are supported for CPQ runtime user interface provided that the following items are used to render the user interface: Quote Layout V2 PROS Smart CPQ App Layout and Theme
Note: Catalog Designer is not supported on mobile devices.

Web Browser Support

WEB BROWSER SUPPORT COVERAGE

CPQ supports the latest main browsers and corresponding versions. Browsers are updated frequently; in some rare cases browser-related issues can appear. In these cases, it may be necessary to upgrade the browser version or to change to another browser brand.

Moreover, in the specific case of Configurator and Catalog, the user interface appearance can differ between different browser brands and/or versions. This is due to differences in browser technology (and compatibility with web standards) and not due to issues in CPQ components.

In the event that specific (typically older) browser versions need to be supported, you can contact PROS customer support to get a quotation.

SALESFORCE MOBILE APP

Depending on the mobile OS you use to run the Salesforce mobile app, you may have to allow cross-site tracking for the integration with Smart CPQ to work. Enable Cross-Website Tracking (iOS)

With iOS 14, Apple placed additional tracking restrictions on third-party applications. These tracking restrictions can prevent Smart CPQ from appearing in the app.

These configurations can be affected.

To unblock third-party content for the Salesforce mobile app on iOS:

  • Go to Settings and search for your Salesforce mobile app.
  • Turn on Allow Cross-Website Tracking.

DYNAMICS 365 MOBILE APPS

PROS currently does not support the Dynamics 365 Sales App or Power Apps Mobile App on any device. PROS is awaiting a feature from Microsoft to enable single sign on such that Smart CPQ can

communicate with MSCRM the CRM through a service account. PROS goal is to support this, but any PROS timeline would be dependent on the Microsoft timeline which is still undefined.

Requirements for Browser on Supported Devices

ADDING CPQ TO TRUSTED SITES

Smart CPQ requires cookies to be accessible. Those cookies are not meant for tracking or analytics purposes but are necessary for the normal use of Smart CPQ.When CPQ is called from an external application (e.g. Salesforce, MS Dynamics), those cookies are then seen as "third party cookies" and the web browser may try to block them, thus preventing the access to the distant CPQ server. CPQ should then be added to the trusted sites and third party cookies allowed.

Important: note: Those settings are managed by the browser vendor and can change without notifying PROS. Please see the browser documentation if the below guidelines are obsolete.
