Getting Started

Logging in to X-Author for Contract Advanced

Before you can work with your agreement documents in X-Author for Contracts Advanced, you must log in to your Salesforce org.

To log into X-Author for Contracts Advanced

  1. Open a new document or an existing document in Microsoft Word.
  2. In the Home tab, click the X-Author Contracts Advanced ribbon.
    The login panel opens.
  3. Click Login. or Click the Home button () and click Login.
    The Salesforce production login page opens.
  4. Enter your production credentials (user name and password) and click Login.
  5. If you are a first-time user, you may be prompted to allow access to X-Author for Contracts Advanced. Click Allow to proceed.

You are logged into the X-Author for Contracts add-in.

Note:

If you encounter an OAuth error while logging into X-Author for Contracts on Microsoft Windows, refresh the page or re-enter your login credentials to log in.

The following options are displayed when you click the Home button.


Option

Description

User Name & User ID

Displays the user name and ID

Contracts

Opens the contracts menu.

Templates

Opens the templates menu.

Documentation

Navigates the X-Author for Contracts Advanced documentation

Technical Support

Connects with the technical support team.

App Details (earlier System information)

Displays the system information that you are currently logged in to.

Log Out

To logout from the X-Author for Contracts
Note:

Note that, on the login page, when you click Log In To Sandbox, you are taken to the Salesforce sandbox login page, where you must enter Sandbox credentials to log in.

To reload the X-Author for Contracts Advanced pane

  1. Log in to X-Author for Contracts Advanced.
  2. Click the Left Arrow button () on the top right corner of the X-Author for Contracts pane. or
    • If you are using a Mac user, click the Information button () on the top right corner of the X-Author for Contracts pane.
  3. Click the Reload menu option.
  4. The X-Author for Contracts Advanced pane is reloaded. When you reload the X-Author for Contract Advanced pane, all changes you made while working on the document are retained. You will not lose any information because of reloading.

To log out of X-Author for Contracts Advanced

  1. Click the Home button ().
  2. Click Log Out "<username>" to log out

To close and restart the X-Author for Contracts Advanced pane

  1. Log into X-Author for Contracts Advanced.
  2. Click the Close button () on the right corner of the Task Pane to close the X-Author for Contracts Advanced pane.
  3. To reopen the X-Author for Contracts pane, click the X-Author Contracts ribbon in the Home tab.

When you reload/restart the X-Author for Contracts Advanced pane, all changes you made while working on the document are retained. You will not lose any information because of reloading/restarting.

Changing Orgs

After logging in to X-Author for Contracts Advanced for Advantage Platform, you can easily switch between your available organizations without needing to log in again every time you switch.
Note: This feature is only available for X-Author for Contracts Advanced for Advantage Platform Users. At this time, changing orgs is not available for X-Author for Contracts Advanced for Salesforce users or hybrid users.
  1. Log in to X-Author for Contracts Advanced for Advantage Platform.
  2. Select Change Orgs from the main menu dropdown.
  3. The Select Organization window opens with a list of your available organizations. Your current selected Org displays a "Current Org" flag. Your Default Org displays a "Default Org".
    Note: Use the Make Default toggle to designate a different Org as your Default Org
  4. Select the Org you want to switch to.
    Warning: Switch Orgs will close your current session. Make sure to save any changes first.
  5. Click Done.
You are now working in the selected organization.
