The Clauses menu lists all the clauses (inserted and marked) and fields (Fields contained within the specific clauses) present in that currently opened template. The fields contained within a clause are shown hierarchically. From this menu you can take the following actions on a clause or a field:
Navigate to a clause in the template
Mark a clause as smart
Mark a clause as read-only
Make a clause condition-based in the template
To view a clause
Open Microsoft Word and log in to X-Author for Contracts Advanced.
From the Contracts pane, click the Home button () and select Templates.
In the Templates pane, go to Work > Clauses. The list of clauses inserted in the document is displayed.
You can identify the read-only clauses by a lock icon () displayed corresponding to the clause name. To know more about read-only clauses, see Making Clauses Delete Read-Only. You can identify the alternate clauses by the split arrow icon ( ) displayed corresponding to the clause name. To know more about alternate clauses, see Viewing and Replacing Alternate Clauses.
Click on a clause name in the list. The document scrolls to highlight the selected clause in the template.
A newly marked clause is also displayed in the Clauses list.
