Using this feature, you can compare any plain text or clause in your agreement document with any clause from the Clause Library.
To compare text
Open Microsoft Word and launch the add-in.
Log in to X-Author for Contracts.
Open the required agreement document, and in the Contracts pane, go to Work > Clause Library.
Highlight the plain content/text or any clause content in the agreement document that you need to compare.
Now in the Clause Library pane, search for the clause you want to compare with, click the More icon () next to the clause name, and click Compare Text.
Now the text you highlighted in the document and clause content from the clause library are compared and the compared results are displayed in a new Compare with Library pane.
If you do not select a text or clause text before clicking on ‘Compare Text’ then a validation message ‘Please select some text’ will be displayed.
The following color code is applied to the newly compared clause text:
Blue text – Refers to the common text that is available both in the highlighted text or clause text from the document and clause text from the Clause Library.
Black text – Refers to highlighted text or clause text from the document.
Red text – Refers to the clause text from the Clause Library.
After viewing the compared results, you can also mark the highlighted text as a new clause by clicking the Mark New Clause button. The Mark Clause form opens. For more information on marking new clauses, see Marking Clauses.
