The regenerate feature allows you to regenerate an agreement document from a selected template with the values updated in the agreement record (Contract Management). You can choose to regenerate an agreement document either by selecting the default template or a new template. The regenerated document will contain the changes made in the agreement record. 

If you have made changes (redlines) to a generated document and need to merge those changes with the updates in the agreement record, you can select the Regenerate with Redlines option. By selecting this option, you do not lose any changes done by reviewers.

Prerequisite

The Allow Regenerate From XAC custom setting must be enabled to view the Regenerate button. For more information on how to set the custom setting in Contract Management, refer to Comply System Property topic in CLM for Administrators.

To regenerate an agreement document 

  1. In the Contracts pane, go to Start tab > Search > Search Agreements. It displays all the agreement ordered by modified date.
  2. Enter the agreement name or number as the search keyword and click the Search icon ( ).
  3. From the search results, click the Expand button () of the agreement you want to open. In the expanded description, click Documents. This opens the Agreement Details page that lists all the versions of the document. 
  4. To open an agreement document version, click the More button () next to the version and click Open. The document is opened in a new Microsoft Word instance. The document is automatically opened and locked by you (You'll see a message saying Document is locked by you). This means that your agreement is opened.
  5. To regenerate the agreement, click the Work tab, click the More button ( ). This opens the Regenerate Agreement dialog box that lists all the templates.
  6. Select the Regenerate option at the bottom of the window. Now, you can select the required template from the list available. By default, the previously used template will be selected.
  7. Click Submit to regenerate agreement in new template. Click Cancel to return to agreement document.
  8. To regenerate the agreement with redlines, click the Work tab, click More button ( ) and click Regenerate. This opens the Regenerate Agreement dialog box that lists all the templates.
  9. Select the Regenerate with Redlines option at the bottom of the window. By default, the previously used template will be selected, and the other templates will be disabled.
  10. Click Submit to regenerate agreement in new template. Click Cancel to return to agreement document.

The regenerated document opens in a new Microsoft Word instance. Note that if the xa_disableautocheckout profile permission is set to true in Conga CLM, after regenerating the document, you will only see the confirmation message.
