Approvals in Slack
When an approval request is triggered from a source application such as CPQ or CLM, it reaches the assigned approver in Slack automatically. Their response is processed immediately, and the approval status updates in real time, both in Slack and in the source application.
Setting up and using this integration involves the following steps, each handled by a different role in your organization:
- Your IT Admin installs the Conga Approvals app in the Slack workspace, making it available to users across the organization. For more information, see Installing the Conga Approvals App in Slack.
- Each Approver links their Slack account to their Conga Advantage Platform account the first time they receive an approval request. This link enables approval notifications and workflows for that user. For more information, see Linking Your Slack Account with Conga Advantage Platform.
- Once linked, an Approver receives approval requests as interactive cards directly in a Slack message. They can review the request, open any attachments, approve or reject it, and add comments, all without leaving Slack. For more information, see Reviewing an Approval Request from Slack.

- Receive approval requests as interactive cards in Slack direct messages.
- Approve or reject requests directly within Slack.

- Log in to your organization's Slack workspace.
- Go to the Conga Approvals app installation link to begin installation.
- Select your Slack workspace when prompted.
- Review the requested permissions and click Allow (or equivalent). A Conga Advantage Platform Login screen appears.

The Conga Approvals app is now available in your Slack workspace. To verify, search for the Conga Approvals app in your workspace's app directory.
Invite the approvers in your organization to the Slack workspace, if they aren't already members. Once a user joins the workspace, the Conga Approvals app is automatically visible to them; no separate app-level access step is needed. Workspace invitations are managed in Slack, not in Conga Approvals. For more information, see Invite people to join your workspace.

Audience: Approver
After you link your account, you receive approval requests as interactive cards in Slack. You can review request details, access attached documents, and act directly from the card.
- Your response is submitted and the approval status updates in real time in Slack and the source application. The action is recorded in My Approvals and logged in the Comments section.
