Live Edit Issue Workarounds

LiveEdit allows you to preview and edit your document before it is delivered according to the specified method like email and download. To use Live Edit, see Using Live Edit to a Solution.

Live Edit is a simple copy/paste of the content out of the Word document, edited in Rich Text, and pasted back to the Word document.

Warning: Live Edit does not support all Composer processes. For example, headers and footers are not supported and Live Edit does not handle watermarks or background colors.

Live Edit Workaround

To work around Live Edit limitations with Composer:

  1. Ensure your Composer button is not in background mode.
  2. Remove Live Edit parameters from your button.
  3. Click your Composer button
  4. Select Same as template in the output and click Preview.


  5. A merged Word document is created. Edit and Save the document.
  6. With the current dialog box open, use the Local Template tab and navigate to the Word document and finish the Merge process.
