Inserting Clauses into a Template
This section describes the steps for inserting clauses into a template.
To insert a clause into a template
You see a success message on successfully inserting a clause. The clause enclosed within double curly braces is inserted into the template. The Clauses pane lists all the clauses present in your current template in the order they appear on the pages. Select a clause from the list to highlight it in the template document. The clause content is marked by a content control boundary in your template.
To delete a clause from a template
- Open a template.
- In the Templates pane, go to Data > Clauses.
- The Clauses pane lists all the clauses present in your template. Select the clause from the list and click the More (
) icon adjacent to the clause name.
- Click Delete. A confirmation window appears.
- Click YES. A confirmation message appears.
You can also use the Backspace or Delete key on your keyboard to remove clauses.
Behavior and Recommendations
- When you modify a clause in CLM org after inserting the clause in a template, the modified clause is not updated in the template. The latest clause is added to the agreement document when you generate the document. For more information about generating an agreement document, refer to the Conga CLM User Guide.
- When adding two clauses with identical text but different formatting, the formatting of the newly added clause overrides that of the previous one.
- When inserting clauses into a template, right-aligned or center-aligned formatting is not preserved.
