Fields represent the contractual terms and metadata from your agreement record in Conga CLM. You can insert fields into a template while creating it or after checking it in. This section describes the steps for adding fields to a template.
To insert fields in a template
Open a template.
Click the Unlock () icon and select Acquire. For more information on locking a template, see Locking and Unlocking Template.
To avoid conflicts where two users might edit the same template simultaneously, the system allows updating the template after locking (acquiring).
Put the cursor in the template text where you want to insert a field and click Insert Field. The Insert Fields window appears.
Select an object(For example, "Agreement") from the Objects column. The fields related to the selected object are generated in the Fields column. To search for a particular object or field, enter a keyword and then press Enter.
Select the required fields. To rearrange the order of fields, select a field from the Selected Field pane, then drag and drop it to the desired position.
To mark fields as Smart, click the Settings()icon > enable Mark as Smart Field toggle. For more details about smart fields, see Making Template Fields Smart.
Click Insert.
To select multiple fields,
On Windows, hold the Ctrl key and select the fields.

The field enclosed within double curly braces is inserted into the template. The Fields pane lists all the fields present in your current template in the order they appear on the pages. Select a field from the list to highlight it in the template document.
