New Features
The following features are new to CLM in this release.
Enhanced Account Page in the Modern UI
The Accounts page is now available in Conga CLM’s modern UI with usability enhancements. The Account details page in the new design system introduces dedicated tabs for Contracts, Contacts, and Locations, each offering structured, interactive grids with search, filter, sort, column freeze, and customizable views. Users can directly navigate to related records through hyperlinks, and row-level actions like delete remain consistent with the previous interface.
The Contacts tab displays all contacts associated with the account, featuring columns for Name, Email, and Business phone. The Name field links to the contact's details, and users can search, filter, create views, sort, and freeze columns. The delete action remains available where applicable, maintaining consistency with the legacy interface.
The Locations tab lists all locations linked to the account, with columns such as Name, Is default, and Location. The Name and Location fields are hyperlinks to the legacy system, and users can search, filter, create views, sort, and freeze columns. The delete option is retained as in the previous interface.
The Account page enforces Property-Based Access Control (PBAC), restricting users to only view and select Account group values and contracts they are authorized to access. Unauthorized submissions are rejected with an error, and administrators can be configured to bypass these restrictions. For more information, see Creating an Account.
Contract Relationship Tree View and Contract Hierarchy Visualization API
The Contract Relationship Tree View visually represents all contracts for a customer or supplier in a hierarchical, expandable structure, showing parent–child relationships. It is a read-only view that supports navigation, displays key contract details, allows switching to list view, supports filtering and sorting at the parent level, and enables CSV export. Available for accounts only.
The Contract Hierarchy Visualization API retrieves complete contract hierarchies for an account, enforcing account-level data integrity. It supports parent–child relationships, uses POST for flexible queries, returns non-paginated results, and prevents cross-account data issues.
Use the POST endpoint `/api/clm/v1/accounts/{accountId}/contracts/hierarchy/query` to fetch root-level contracts and `/api/clm/v1/accounts/{accountId}/contracts/{contractId}/hierarchy` to retrieve child contracts dynamically.
For more information, see Viewing the Contract Details of an Account and Conga Developer Portal.
CLM Experience and Efficiency Improvements
- Users can preview files directly from the Documents tab in Contracts, replicating the preview experience available in Conga Drive. For more information, see Previewing a Document.
- This release introduces a centralized Custom Object Management Workspace, enabling users to view, create, and manage records for all custom objects in a single interface, replacing the legacy Object Data Explorer. It provides full column visibility with search and filtering, while administrators control access through permissions and configure layouts via CX Studio. For more information, See Related Items.
- Field mappings from Contract Requests to Agreements are managed via customizable JSON-based CloneSpec, supporting extensibility for custom fields and aligning with the contract conversion API endpoint POST /api/clm/v1/requests/{contractRequestId}/convert. For more information, see Roles and Permission Groups.
- Supplier Management feature is now supported in Conga CLM modern UI.
- Access to the Bulk Edit feature in the Clause List View can be restricted using permission groups and UI rules. For more information, see Roles and Permissions.
- Bulk update agreement line items using the new API endpoint PUT /api/clm/v1/contracts/{contractId}/{objectName}, supporting all field data types for standard and custom fields.
- Dynamic lookup filters using configuration APIs are introduced, enabling context-driven field values, and extends data handling with APIs for bulk updates and contract request-to-agreement field mappings. Security is strengthened through object-based RBAC, controlled bulk edit access, and improved validation across forms. For more information, see Dynamic Lookup Filters for CLM Layouts.
- Additional improvements include UI updates and rebranding changes, clearer external recipient labeling in O365 workflows, and usability enhancements such as auto-clearing selection fields. For more information, see Sending a Contract Document for Review, Microsoft 365 Review.
- Navigation is improved by enabling direct access to related contract data through hyperlinks that open in the modern UI, ensuring seamless and controlled user interaction across modules.
Rebates and Price Programs: Users can now access and manage Rebate and Price Programs directly within contract records, with support for search, filtering, bulk actions, and cloning. Document handling is improved with in-app preview for multiple file types and enhanced attachment management for accounts, all governed by permissions.
Contract Request Bundle Management
Contract request bundling allows users to create and submit multiple related contract requests as a single, unified request. Contract request bundle provides a centralized way to submit, track, and manage all related requests together.
There is a common metadata and approval workflow within the bundle for each request within it. Each request within the bundle has its own approval workflow and approval steps.
Approvers get a unified view of the entire bundle, where they can review, approve, reject, or comment at an individual request level, with all actions recorded for audit purposes.
Administrators can configure assignment rules for contract managers or user groups, and automate ownership assignment during contract conversion. Enhanced APIs support creating, updating, canceling, and submitting bundled requests in a single call.
Once approved, bundled requests are automatically converted into linked contracts with the correct relationship, metadata and workflows. Notifications are sent to relevant users during approval and conversion. The release also includes improvements to document type handling and stricter permission-based controls for secure access. For more information, see Contract Requests.
Global Documents Repository
The system introduces a centralized global documents repository for storing and managing documents accessible across contracts. Users with appropriate permissions can upload, search, and manage documents by type, description, effective and expiration dates, and associated entities, with access governed by role-based access controls. Only authorized users can view, upload, edit metadata, or retire documents, while document content remains uneditable after approval. For more information, see Global Documents.
Contract Managers can link global documents from the centralized repository to contracts, to reuse standardized documents without duplication. The system displays only effective documents based on contract dates, enforces applicability rules, and shows document metadata such as name, description, type, effective date, and expiration date in the Documents tab. Only supported file types are visible, and clear validation messages appear if a global document upload fails or a mandatory document is invalid. For more information, see Uploading a Document.
Conga CLM Embedded Interface for Microsoft Dynamics 365
The CLM Embedded Interface for Microsoft Dynamics 365 helps users to access Conga CLM features including All Contracts, All Contract Requests, Conga Approvals, Obligation Fulfillments, Contract Search, and Contract Dashboards and Reports, from a unified Conga CLM menu within the Sales Hub navigation. For more information, see Accessing Conga CLM from Dynamics 365.
Conga CLM and Dynamics 365 integration is now extended to contract request management. Users can now access and manage Conga CLM contract requests directly from the Accounts and Opportunities records in Dynamics 365. They can initiate contract requests from the Account or Opportunity interface, with forms pre-populated using CRM data to reduce manual entry and maintain data consistency. All contract requests are automatically linked to their originating Dynamics 365 records and routed through configured approval workflows, supporting compliance and traceability. For more information, see CLM Contract Requests in Dynamics 365.
The users can also synchronize opportunity line items from Dynamics 365 to Conga CLM contract line items using a one-way integration using Workato recipes. For more information, see Synchronizing Opportunity and Contract Line Items.
Out-of-the-Box Dashboards and Scheduled Reports
This OOB feature provides access of four dashboards—Sales, Supplier, Legal, and Conversations Report—for real-time contract lifecycle insights:
- Sales: Tracks renewals, contract value by category/region, top revenue contracts, and pending signatures.
- Supplier: Monitors contract request status, supplier risk, and spending trends.
- Legal: Analyzes clause risk, contract trends, clause changes, and non-standard terms for compliance.
- Conversations Report: View and export conversation transcripts with timestamps, participants, messages, and attachments. Supports filtering and exporting up to 50,000 messages per thread (CSV/Excel, UTC). Only authorized users can export; restricted data is flagged, with clear column names and correct contract numbers.
Scheduled Reports: Automate delivery of dashboards/charts with configurable frequency, recipients, and formats (screenshot, link, PDF). Manage schedules (edit, pause, duplicate, delete) and track execution history and errors. Some advanced features (validation, preview, filtering, audit trail) are partially or not yet implemented.
These dashboards and reporting features provide immediate, consistent insights for stakeholders, reducing manual report generation and supporting proactive contract management. For more information, see CLM Report.
Improved Third-Party Paper User Experience
This release enhances the Third-Party Paper (TPP) workflow with improved integration, flexible document handling, and accurate contract status management. Users can now initiate TPP contracts directly from contract requests, maintaining workflow continuity, traceability, and audit compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
For executed contracts, the system enables automatic extraction of metadata, clauses, and obligations, updating contract status and status category to “In Filing / Activated” to reflect final negotiated terms. Status rationalization also ensures correct status assignment for own paper, TPP, and executed contracts. For more information, see Importing an Executed Contract.
The system performs duplicate file checks when uploading TPP documents using Discovery Agent during contract creation with Enhanced Authoring Flow feature. If a duplicate file is detected, an alert is displayed. For more information, see Uploading a Third-party Paper (with Enhanced Authoring Flow).
For organizations that have procured a Conga Discovery Agent license and configured the required settings in the Admin Console, the Discovery Agent toggle is enabled by default in the contract creation dialog. If users turn off the toggle and proceed with contract creation, the system displays a confirmation message indicating that the contract will be created without data extraction. This applies Upload Third-Party Paper and Executed Contract options in contract creation dialog and Import Offline Document option in the contract details page.
Legal Entity and Business Unit pages in the Modern UI
The pages for managing legal entities and business units are now available in Conga CLM’s modern UI. Users can search, filter, sort, and perform bulk actions across these management pages. The interface supports advanced filters, customizable column visibility, and the creation of public or private saved views to organize records efficiently.
Role-based access control enables creation, editing, and deletion of records. Bulk operations such as export, edit, and delete are available, along with field-level configuration and pagination for efficient management of business unit hierarchies. The system enforces data validation, security, and accessibility standards throughout the management pages.
For more information, see Legal Entities and Business Units.
Implementation Tasks for CLM
The Implementation Tasks feature provides a structured implementation checklist covering required and optional setup steps across areas like Installation, Data Model, and Validation. Each step includes clear categorization, task details, and direct navigation links to relevant configuration pages, helping users complete setup efficiently without losing context.
Administrators can easily filter and search steps by category, status, or keywords, with dynamic results for quick access. Progress can be tracked through dashboards, with status updates (for example, Not Started, In Progress, Completed) saved at the organization level for accurate monitoring. They can also add comments to capture notes, decisions, or blockers, ensuring shared visibility and context. For more information, see Implementation Tasks.
Administrators can control feature visibility via a configuration flag and access detailed documentation links for each step, improving guidance and overall implementation clarity. For more information, see General Settings.
Task Management Enhancements
The Task Management feature is enhanced to to enable users to create, assign, and track ad hoc tasks with detailed information, attachments, and notifications—all directly linked to agreements for better context and traceability.
Tasks support statuses, reminders, and audit trails, ensuring full lifecycle visibility. Role-based controls govern actions such as edit, cancel, delete, and reassign, while completed or canceled tasks cannot be deleted to preserve history.
Tasks can be automatically triggered by contract lifecycle events, ensuring timely execution with controlled publishing and notifications. The feature also includes improved validation, refined attachment handling, and enhanced workflows with review-based tasks and structured status transitions.
For more information, see Tasks Across Contract Lifecycle.
Conversations: Advanced Collaboration and Messaging for Contract Stakeholders
The Conversations feature now provides an in-platform, threaded messaging system that enables contract stakeholders to collaborate directly within the application across contracts, clauses, requests, and related entities. It standardizes all collaboration terminology as “Conversations” and supports structured discussions with thread types, priorities, participant assignments, and visibility controls.
The enhancements improve usability with advanced @mention capabilities, inline notifications for participant changes, and clear differentiation between participants and non-participants, including automatic participant addition and access validation. Expanded APIs support mention search and enforce authentication and authorization.
Administrators can control feature access through feature flags and role-based permissions, with separate roles for read and edit actions. The interface includes improved participant management, consistent navigation, and visibility based on configuration.
The feature also supports document sharing within conversations, unified access to discussions across contract hierarchies, and exporting conversation logs in multiple formats. With audit tracking, responsive UI, and microservice-based architecture, Conversations ensures scalable, secure, and traceable collaboration.
Export conversation logs as timestamped transcripts in PDF, CSV, or Excel formats, and track all conversation-related objects in the Audit and Access Dashboard. Screen responsiveness and UI modifications provide a consistent experience across devices. For more information, see Conversations, Audit and Access Dashboard, and Audit and Access Dashboard Configuration.
Recurring Obligations and User Group Assignment Support
The enhanced obligation management system supports recurring obligations with configurable schedules, including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and custom intervals. Contract managers can specify obligation frequency at the time of obligation creation to define recurrence patterns, with dynamic display of related fields such as Start Date, End Date, Number of Occurrences, and Interval Type. Generated contract documents display recurring obligation schedules in natural language when the "Print on Contract" option is enabled.
Contract managers can now assign obligations to individual users or user groups as assignees or reviewers. The interface provides confirmation prompts if selected users or groups lack contract access, with options to grant permissions. Members of assigned user groups with appropriate permissions can view and perform fulfilment or review actions, and access is updated in real-time as group membership changes. Notifications are sent to all active members of assigned user groups for contract fulfilments and reviews, reflecting the latest group membership at the time of notification.
Contract managers can add, edit, or delete obligations on renewed, cloned or amended contracts before activation from the UI.
For more information, see Obligation Definition and Obligation Fulfillment.
Third?party Paper Support for Contract Requests
Contract requesters can now create requests for third-party papers when submitting external contracts for review and approval, in addition to the existing support for own paper. For third-party paper requests, users can provide key contract details to supply relevant information without requiring legal assistance. They can also upload and manage third-party contract documents and supporting files as part of the request. Before submission, users can review all entered information and uploaded documents in a consolidated summary view that clearly distinguishes between the primary contract document and supporting documents.
The third-party paper document uploaded as contract document on the request becomes the primary contract document when the request is converted to a contract. If the Discovery Agent is enabled, it extracts the fields, clauses, and obligations from the upload document. For more information, see Creating a Contract Request.
Obligation Management User Experience Enhancements
The user interface for obligation management and fulfillment is updated with a renamed Manage Fulfilment menu, Obligation Definition and Obligation Fulfilment tabs in the contract details page.
The new Manage Fulfillment page displays preconfigured views such as All Fulfilments, Pending Fulfilment, Pending Review, Overdue obligations, and Upcoming obligations. It displays only active fulfilment records in a flat view, sorted by due date, and includes key columns for efficient tracking. The fulfilment actions modal provides unified guidance and document upload messaging. Users can access fulfilment-related information in the Manage Fulfilment page in a unified view using three tabs: Details, Fulfilment, and Activity History. For more information, see Obligation Fulfillment in New UI.
System-generated, unique Obligation Numbers and Fulfilment Numbers are now assigned to new obligation and fulfilment records, using configurable prefixes (default: OBL and FUL) set by administrators in the General Settings. These numbers are non-editable, appear in relevant listing and detail pages, and do not update existing records.
A new Canceled status is introduced for fulfilments affected by contract termination, expiration, or inactivation. For more information, see Obligation Fulfillment.
The notification process is enhanced with consolidated emails and reminders. On contract activation, each obligation assignee and reviewer receives a single email listing only their assigned obligations. Assignees also receive one consolidated reminder email at 10 AM (organization time zone) on the fulfilment due date for all Pending Fulfilment obligations per contract. Overdue notifications are sent once when an obligation remains unfulfilled for 7 days after the due date. Notifications exclude obligations linked to Expired, Terminated, Canceled, or Inactivated contracts. The system uses a standardized email template with a direct link to the Fulfilment page. Notifications also automatically reflect reassigned assignees and reviewers, ensuring only updated recipients receive future alerts. For more information, see Auto-activation of Contracts and Obligation Fulfillment.
