New Features and Enhancements

The following features are new to CPQ in this release.

Syncing the Quote Attachments to the Conga Platform

When working on a Salesforce quote in an RLS flow, you can select the associated files in the Conga Platform instead of uploading them manually. This allows you to submit the quote for approval quickly.

Display Criteria Dimension Type using GetRebates API

For 'Every X Get Y' and 'For Every X Get X' type of rebates, the response of the GetRebates API contains either Quantity or Revenue for the below values:

  • ForEveryXValueType
  • ForEveryXValue

Support of 'Sync Asset Changes To Quote' flag on Renewal Quote

The system-generated Renewal Quote is updated with asset changes if the 'Sync Asset Changes To Quote' flag on Renewal Quote is set to True. The asset changes are not updated if the flag is set to False.By default, the flag is set to True for a Renewal Quote.

Enhanced Product Attribute Rules Page

The Expression builder pop-up window on the Product Attribute Rule creating page now displays only Line Item and product objects instead of all the objects.

For more information, see Creating a Product Attribute Rule.

Calculating Highest Rebate Rate

Using the following Rebates API, you can define Tier rates and can pass the highest rate for estimation. This is useful to identify the highest rebate that is applicable for the given product. For example, when you buy Product-A with Net Price as per below defined tiers and get rebate on Product-BTier1: $1000 - 2%Tier2: $5000 - 5%Tier 3: $10000 - 10%

The Product-A Net Price is $1200 then ideally Product-B should receive the benefit as 2%, but since highest rebate is enabled, Product-B gets 10% as rebate.

/cart/{cartId}/rebates

Support for 'Base Price Defaulting Method For Renewal' Setting for Bundle Option

The ability to load the asset line with base price as defined in the Global Settings > Assets > 'Base Price Defaulting Method For Renewal', is supported for Bundle Options. Using the setting, you can renew using the higher value of the two - Contract Unit Price, Net Unit Price, or the lower value of the two - Contract Unit Price, Net Unit Price. Or you can retain the default behaviour, which is loading the asset line with net unit price. The “Base Price Defaulting Method For Renewal” is evaluated for individual lines in the Bundle and the Option and is not based on the primary Bundle line.

Other asset operations still use the net unit price for loading the asset line items.

Enhancement to the Clone Feature on the Cart Page

You can now control where cloned lines appear on the cart page. Previously, they were listed at the bottom. With the new Enable Adding Clone Item Next to Original setting in Cart settings, cloned lines are placed next to the original lines when enabled.

For more information, see Cart Settings.

Support to View Applicable Rebates on Cart

Some rebates have criteria that are applicable on cart level, such as total net price on the cart is above or equal to 500 USD then a certain rebate is applied. To identify such rebates on the cart for ‘For Every X Get Y’ rebate type, you can use the following API.

/cart/{cartId}/rebates

For more information, see Conga Developer Portal.

Support to View Applicable Rebates on Cart

For more information, see Conga Developer Portal.

Support for Tier Definition in Rebate Criteria

For Buy X Get Y rebate program, you can define rebate criteria by aggregating multiple line items with the tier definition using an aggregation method. Select Sum in the MetricValueSource Aggregator field on the Benefit page.

For more information, refer to Defining Benefits for a Rebate topic.

Catalog API: Preview Favorite in Catalog

The Preview API enables you to view the favorites on the catalog page. This helps you to validate a particular favorite before using it on the catalog page.

GET /favorites/{Id}/preview

For more information, see Conga Developer Portal.

Enhanced Applicable and Applied Constraint Rules Section in Rules Explorer

You can now view detailed information about Constraint Rules that are available and applied to a product and its children. The Constraint Rules section inside “Rules Explorer” has two tabs: Constraint Rules and Applied Constraint Rules.A list of all active Constraint Rules that are applicable for the product and its children are shown in the Constraint Rules tab, while the list of all active Constraint Rules that have been applied for the product and its children are shown in the Applied Constraint Rules tab along with related fields. Both tabs have hyperlinks on the rule name that navigate to the respective admin pages for further review.

Enhanced Applicable and Applied Attribute Rules Section in Rules Explorer

You can now view detailed information about Attribute Rules that are available and applied to a product and its children. The Attribute Rules section inside “Rules Explorer” has two tabs: Attribute Rules and Applied Attribute Rules.A list of all active attribute rules that are applicable for the product and its children are shown in the Attribute Rules tab, while the list of all active attribute rules that have been applied for the product and its children are shown in the Applied Attribute Rules tab along with related fields. Support for Attribute Based Constraint Rules APIs

Using the APIs you can define attribute based constraint rules for one or more attributes. The APIs support creating and updating a matrix table with defined attributes. The API endpoints allow for:

  • associating products to be included or excluded based on the defined attribute conditions.
  • defining a line item field value based on the defined attribute conditions for a product being included.
  • viewing details of an attribute based constraint rule.
  • updating fields and the matrix entries inside an existing attribute based constraint rule
Create: POST /attribute-constraint-rules/{ParentID}/entriesUpdate: PATCH /attribute-constraint-rules/{ParentID}/entriesDelete: DELETE /attribute-constraint-rules/{ParentID}/entries

Enhancements to the Bundle Map Feature

The following enhancements have been implemented to the Bundle Map feature.

  • Improved Bundle Navigation
  • Responsive UI Enhancements
  • Details Panel Updates
  • Search Experience Improvements
  • Hierarchy View Fixes
  • Better Visualization for Complex Bundles
  • Cart Expand/Collapse Enhancement
  • Refined Bundle Map Design

For more information, see Product Administration.

Disabling Expansions In the Cart by Product Rule

You can expand the bundles to view the options, sub-bundles, and secondary line items on the cart page using the expand icon. CPQ provides a feature to prevent sales representatives from expanding the bundles. This is helpful if you do not want to expose the detailed prices and discounts applied at the option level of a bundle or sub-bundle to the Sales Representatives. To achieve this, create a rule and the required criteria to disable the expansion on the product attribute rules page.

For more information, see Creating Attribute Rules.

New Rebate Program for Quote Creation

While creating a quote, you can apply the new rebate program, 'Every X Get Y'. This program allows you to estimate potential customer rebates directly in the cart based on the quantity or revenue. For example, for quantity-based rebate, if a customer buys 10 units of Product-A, they will receive a 5% rebate for 2 units of Product-B, whereas in the case of revenue-based, if Product-A with a net value greater than $500 is purchased then $10 rebate for 5 units of Product-B is applicable. A combination of Quantity and Revenue is also possible. For example, Product-A with $500 revenue and Product-B with 100 units is purchased, then 5% rebate on Product-C is applicable.

Enhancement on Promotions Benefits Page

For "Every X Get Y' types of promotions, the Metric field is now converted into a Lookup field, and it accepts Price Dimension created with the type 'Quantity'.

Support for 'Apply Adjustment to Current Contract Term' flag for Standalone

For a standalone product, you can give a deep discount to the customer where the discount is considered from either the Asset TCV or from the Contract Value, and the start date can be set from the current contract term or from the original start date of the asset. This can be done using the setting ‘Apply Adjustment to Current Contract Term’.If the flag is set to True, then compute the net price and the net unit price using the current term value and current selling term. The asset start date will be set as the same as the Contract start date. If the flag is set to False, then compute the net price and the net unit price using the Asset TCV. The asset start date will be set as the same as the Original Asset start date. There is always an impact on Billing Schedules after this transaction. Billing schedules will be adjusted as per the new asset date and remaining Net price. Note: Deep discount is considered when the Net price is negative on current transaction after manual Adjustment and the line status is != Cancelled and “Decremented and Merged”.

Revenue Admin Service API

The following API allows you to add an existing category with child categories and product associations for the given destination category ID.

POST /categories/{id}/add
