New Features

The following features are new to Digital Commerce in this release.

Commerce Collaboration

  • Enabling Real-Time CollaborationCollaborative Commerce enables real-time quote collaboration between internal Sales Reps and external Buyers and Partners across CPQ Web UI and Digital Commerce.
  • Collaborating with Sales TeamsSales Reps can share quotes with Buyers, Partners, and internal team members. Access levels include view-only, limited edits (quantity or term changes), and full cart editing. For more information, see Sharing a Quote with a Buyer and Sharing a Quote with a Partner in CPQ for Advantage Platform.
  • Reviewing and Editing Quotes as a BuyerBuyers can review shared quotes with permissions ranging from view-only (Accept/Reject) to full cart edits. Guest Buyers can securely access shared quotes without logging in. Buyer actions sync back to CPQ to support approvals and ordering. For more information, see Collaborating on Quote Reviews in Digital Commerce.
  • Commenting and Tracking Collaboration HistoryA unified comments experience enables threaded discussions across channels and provides an auditable collaboration history for each quote.

Enabling Tax Calculation

You can calculate sales tax on demand by clicking Calculate Tax on the cart and checkout pages as a Buyer. If you are a Partner, you can also calculate tax on the Request Quote and Submit Order pages. The system calculates tax based on the shipping address, product details, prices, and tax categories, displays only the tax amount, and includes it in the total price.

You cannot recalculate tax automatically when cart contents or addresses change, and the system keeps the tax amount unchanged after order creation.

You can use this feature as a Buyer (including guest users) or as a Partner through integration with the Avalara tax engine APIs.

  • Choosing Payment Options at CheckoutYou can place orders using a PO Number (Purchase Order), Pay Later, or Pay Now during checkout with integrated payment gateway support.
  • Payment Gateway IntegrationYou can process Pay Now payments through an integrated payment gateway (for example, Stripe), supporting secure payment authorization and processing for registered and guest users. For more information, see Configuring Stripe Payment Integration and Guest User Payment Integration.
  • Tracking Payment StatusYou can view the current payment status?Pending, Processing, Completed, or Error?on the Order Details page, giving you clear visibility into payment progress. When payment is pending, you can select Pay Now directly from the Order Details page.
  • Handling Payment Failures and RestrictionsYou can retry a failed payment or change the payment method if a payment fails. After successful payment, the system restricts order edits to prevent changes.
  • Using Pay NowYou can use Pay Now as a registered user or a guest user during checkout. For more information, see Using Pay Now.
  • Using Pay LaterYou can use Pay Later as a registered user to place an order and complete payment later. This option is not available for guest users. For more information, see Using Pay Later.
  • Using Purchase Order (PO Number)You can add a PO number and upload a supporting document during checkout for internal order tracking. The Order Details page displays the PO number and payment status. For more information, see Adding Purchase Order Number (PO Number).
  • Administrative Configuration: Administrators can control the display of Payment Status and PO Number fields on the Order Details page using the OrderOverrideAllowedParams settings in Config Management API.
