New Features and Enhancements

The following enhancements are new to Merge Service in this release.

MergeService: Retain Read-Only Field Values in Repeat Tables During Regenerate with Redlines

Regenerating documents using theRegenerate with Redlinesfeature in X-Author for Contracts 2.0 now retains values for fields marked asRead-Onlywithin repeat tables on Agreement Line Items. Existing line-item data, such asNet Price, remains visible and unaltered, while newly added rows are appended with redlines, preserving document accuracy and supporting compliance requirements for business users.

Combine Document API Refactored for OpenXML Processing

TheCombine Document APInow usesOpenXML SDKfor document processing, replacing legacy Word Interop dependencies to improve performance duringRegenerate with redlinesoperations. All content control, revision, and custom XML handling methods are refactored to leverage OpenXML types such asWordprocessingDocument,SdtElement, and related classes, providing a unified approach across legacy and new document generation services.
