Inserting Clause as Text

You can now insert a clause as plain text anywhere in a generated document. When you insert a clause as plain text and check-in the agreement, the clause is marked with the action InsertedAsText in the Agreement Clauses related list in Contract Management. Also, when you insert a clause as plain text into a smart clause in the generated agreement and perform check-in with reconciliation, the smart clause is marked as modified whereas the inline clause is marked as InsertedAsText. This way you can track a clause inserted as plain text in the agreement. For more details on how to track clause activity in an agreement, refer to Tracking Clauses in your Agreement.

To insert clause as text

  1. Open the document and from the X-Author Contracts tab, open the Playbook.
  2. Search for a Clause type template and click Select.
  3. Click Insert Text to insert the clause content as plain text into the document. The inserted clause text appears redlined in the agreement document if the agreement's protection level is set to Insert Comments and Track Changes.
