Refreshing Clauses in a Template
Refresh feature in FX2 format provides the ability for the user to recognize and update any related templates which are affected by a nested clause template’s changes. Refreshing a template brings all lower changed template contents into the current template document, and Auto Publishing batch process allows publishing of all higher-level templates related to the current template document.
If we assume the example of an agreement main template which contains a 1st level clause template, which in turn contains an inserted or nested 2nd level clause template, changes can be made to templates at any of these three levels.
- A change to the 2nd level template will have an impact on both the 1st level clause template and the main agreement template.
- If you check out the 1st level clause template and then check it back in, the system allows you to refresh this 1st level clause template’s contents. You can achieve this by updating the 2nd level clause template’s changed content directly in the 1st level clause template before check-in.
- You can also view the affected parent clause or main agreement template records in Salesforce. So for the 1st level clause template at check-in, you can use the Auto Publishing feature to publish all of the main agreement templates which are affected by the changes to the 1st level clause template.
The Auto Publishing feature updates all higher level parent clause templates as well as the main agreement template affected by the changes in a 2nd or lower level child templates. The net effect of using both the Refresh and Auto Publishing features is that document generation uses the current template contents and hence, document generation becomes faster.
Prerequisites
- You must have previously changed a 2nd level clause template.
- You must have a 1st level clause template containing a second level clause template where the content of the child clause has been changed.
