Adding Recipients to a Transaction

You can add recipients to a transaction that is in Draft or In Progress state. If the transaction is In Progress, the signing process is paused until changes are completed.

To add recipients to transaction

  1. Open the relevant transaction from the Transaction List page. 
  2. Go to the Recipients section. 
  3. Click Add Recipient. A new row appears for a new recipient.
  4. Enter first name, last name, email ID of the recipient. Optionally, you can add title and company.
  5. Turn on the Set signing order toggle button to specify a signing order for a recipient. A number appears beside each recipient in the list.
    1. drag and drop recipients into the correct order using the Sequence icon () on the left.
  6. Click the More icon () to take the following actions:
    1. Click Settings to configure recipient settings. For more information, see Configuring Recipient Settings
    2. Click Remove to delete the recipient.
    3. Click Move Up and Move Down to change the recipient's order. 

Changing a Recipient's Type

After saving a recipient, you can change the recipient type.

To change a recipient's type

  1. Open the relevant transaction from the Transaction List page. 
  2. Go to the Recipients section and locate the relevant recipient.
  3. Click the User icon (). A drop-down menu displays the type options.

  4. Select one of the recipient types in the following table:

    Add a recipient as an account sender or an individual user with an email address. This type is selected by default when a new recipient is added to a transaction. 

    GroupAdd a recipient to an existing group within the account. This type is not visible if groups are not configured in the account.
    MyselfAdd yourself as a recipient. This type is not visible if you are already a recipient on the transaction.
    PlaceholderAdd a recipient as a signer whose identity is determined later. This can be useful if, for example, you are creating a transaction from a template. However, all placeholders must be replaced by real signers before a transaction is distributed for signing.

Configuring Recipient Settings

After adding a recipient, you can update the recipient's personal details, authentication method, and other additional settings.  

To configure a recipient settings

  1. Open the relevant transaction from the Transaction List page. 
  2. Go to the Recipients section and locate the relevant recipient.
  3. Click the More icon (), and click Settings.
  4. Select any of the following tabs, and configure its settings: 

    TabSettings
    Recipient

    The Type field displays the recipient's type, which is read-only. You can change the following fields for the recipient:

    • Role
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email
    • Title, Company
    • Language
    Authentication

    Specifies the authentication method that is used to verify the recipient's identity. This action is available only for the Recipient recipient type. You can select any of the following authentication types:

    • General
    • KBA

    Attachments

    Specify one or more supporting documents (e.g., a driver's license) that the recipient must upload before the signing is completed. This action is not available for the Myself recipient type.

    Advanced
    • Personal Message: Type a personal message for the recipient. This action is available only for the Recipient and Group recipient types.
    • Change Signer: By default this toggle button is OFF. If you toggle it ON, during the signing the recipient can delegate their role in the transaction to another recipient. This action is available only for the Recipient and Group recipient types.
    • Email Delivery: By default this toggle button is OFF. If you toggle it ON, the recipient receives the transaction's signed documents as an email attachment. This action is available only for the Recipient and Group recipient types.
  5. Click Save.
