Using X-Author Contracts you can import a document that has not been saved in CLM. Using this feature you can attach it to a pre-existing contract record. Similar to creating a new contract, when you choose to associate the document with a pre-existing contract record, it is added to the documents-related list for that contract. Unlike creating a new offline contract, importing a contract offline does not create a new contract record, but rather attaches your offline document to a pre-existing contract record.
To import an offline contract
Open Microsoft Word and launch the X-Author for Contracts Advanced add-in.
Log in to X-Author for Contracts and open the Contract Document.
In the Contracts panego toStart > Search Contracts.
In the Search Contracts field enter the full or partial contract name and click the Search icon () to locate your contract.
Click the Expand ( ) button next to the contract name to see more details and click Check In Offline.
In the Locale popup window, make the following selections:
Locale
Date Format
Currency Format
Number Precision

Click Save.
Your document is checked in offline. The document is opened in a new Microsoft Word instance. Note that if the DISABLE_AUTO_CHECKOUT permission is set to true in Admin Setting, after clicking save, you will only see the confirmation message. The document will not open in a new instance. For more information on disabling auto check out, seeAdmin Settings for X-Author for Contracts Advanced.
