When data is retrieved from an environment using a Query or Search & Select action, it remains in memory until a Display Action places that data into the workbook based on a Display Map.
Note
To create a Display Action, you must have an existing Display Map.
To create a Display Action
Click the lower section of the Actions button and select Display.
In the Action Name field, enter a name for your Display Action. Use a name that describes the records to display.
Click the drop-down next to Display Map to select the Display Map to use.
To disable excel events while performing display actions, select the Disable Excel Events during execution checkbox.
Perform the following optional steps when creating a Display Map if you want to display the filters used in any Query or Search & Select actions used to display records for the specified Display Map.
Select the Show Query Filters check box.
Select one or more Display Map Objects for which you want to display the query filters for during runtime.
For each Display Map object selected, enter a worksheet cell location in the Filter Location in Excel field. At runtime, all configured filters for queries used in that Display Map are populated in the specified cell location. For example, specifying the filter location Sheet2!B2 displays query filters for the corresponding Display Map object in the cell B2 on Sheet 2. You can also specify a named range as a filter location.
Click Save.
Runtime Behavior: When the App is executed during runtime, the query filter is displayed in Sheet 2 in cell B2. The query filters can also be displayed in merged cells.
