Cycle Definitions are what allow you to track how much time a record spends between each step in a pre-defined process.
For example, you might have a contract approval process with the following steps:
Creating a contract request
Drafting the contract
Negotiating the contract
Sending the contract for e-signatures from approvers
Receiving all e-signatures required and the contract is now active
The first cycle definition you can create for this contract approval process is to track how many business hours it takes for a document to move from the first "Creating a contract request" step to the "Drafting the contract" step, and would include these selections:
You can create as many additional cycle definitions as you need for your process. If you would like to use this example contract approval process with pre-made default cycle definitions for each step, see Creating Default Cycle Definitions. If you would like to create your own custom cycle definitions, see Creating Custom Cycle Definitions.
