The Fields tab displays all the fields in the currently open template in the order they appear on the pages. Fields represent the contractual terms and metadata from your contract record in Conga CLM. They are also called "merge fields". When you generate a contract document, the values of the objects and associated fields are retrieved from the contract record.
You can include fields as static text or as smart fields that can be changed and reconciled to the contract record during the negotiation process. Smart fields are intended for parts of a contract that would normally be negotiated. Typically represented by small chunks of text such as dates, categories, and numeric values, smart fields are not intended to hold large amounts of text.
