Application Name Rebranding

Enhancements

The following section describes existing features that are changed (or are no longer supported) in this release.

Support for Special Characters

Conga-Dynamics 365 Connector has added support for special characters in String, LongString, and SelectOption fields.

Appending Text to a Field Value

When mapping fields, you can now configure additional text to be appended during sync to the same field value in the destination org for fields of type String. This allows you to do things like inserting the value of the field into a URL (for example https://www.example.com/{field-value}/index.html).

Get Started
For more information, refer to the topic Mapping Fields in the Conga-Dynamics 365 Connector Winter '20 Administrator Guide.

Automated Scheduling

The manual process for creating a data sync scheduler is now automated through Microsoft Power Automate.

Activate the Default Power Automate Flow

To make sure that scheduled sync works properly, you must set up the default Power Automate flow after importing the connector solution into Dynamics 365. This is a new required step in the process of deploying the connector in Dynamics 365.

Get Started
For step-by-step instructions to active the Power Automate flow, refer to the topic Deploying the Connector in the Conga-Dynamics 365 Connector Winter '20 Administrator Guide.

Specify Power Automate Connection Id for Dynamics 365 Connection

You must now provide the Power Automate Connection Id when setting up any connection to Dynamics 365.

Get Started
For step-by-step instructions to obtain and specify the Power Automate Connection Id, refer to Configuring Data Sync Connections in the Conga-Dynamics 365 Connector Administrator Guide.

Sync Frequency and Sync Interval Fields

Two new fields have been added to the Setup Sync Group page: Sync Frequency and Sync Interval. These fields configure how often the sync group is scheduled for data sync. When you specify valid values for these fields, objects and fields in the sync group automatically sync to the destination org according to the specified frequency and interval.

Administrators are now no longer required to set up a process in Dynamics 365 to schedule data sync.

  • Existing customers must delete the existing scheduler process for any sync group with these fields specified for data sync to execute at the specified frequency.
  • Existing sync groups must be modified to specify values for these fields to enable any automation features.

Get Started
For a description of these fields and how to specify them for a sync group, refer to the topic Setting Up Sync Groups in the Conga-Dynamics 365 Administrator Guide.
