Auto-Provisioning Users

Auto-provisioning lets users from an authorized external integration automatically create their Advantage Platform accounts when they first log in. It helps administrators simplify user onboarding by removing the need for manual user creation.

Note:
  • Auto-provisioning works for all external integrations except Conga IdP.

  • Conga recommends not to use the auto-provisioning feature to onboard users from a SAML 2.0 Identity Provider (IdP).

When auto-provisioning is enabled, any user from the integrated system, such as Salesforce, Microsoft, etc., can sign in to the Advantage Platform using their external credentials. During their first login, the Advantage Platform automatically creates a user account and assigns the AuthAutoProvisionedUser role.

This default role includes limited permissions, allowing administrators to control access levels for newly created users. Administrators can later modify or expand these permissions based on organizational needs.

Example: If Salesforce is integrated and authorized as an external service, all users from that Salesforce organization can log in to the Advantage Platform with their Salesforce credentials. Their user accounts are automatically created on first login.

Attention:

If the same external integration is connected to your multiple organizations under the same account, users from that external integration are not auto-provisioned. In such cases, the administrator must manually onboard those users into the respective organization.

For Example: If you have Microsoft IdP connected to both your UAT and Production organizations, auto-provisioning will not work. You must manually onboard the user into either UAT, Production, or both organizations.

Enabling Auto-Provisioning for Users

You are an administrator.
You can allow users from an authorized external integration to automatically create their Platform accounts when they first log in. This process, called auto-provisioning, simplifies user onboarding and reduces manual user creation tasks.
  1. Click the App Launcher () icon from the top-left corner, then go to Admin Console > Organization.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Enable the Auto Provision User Enabled toggle.
Users from the authorized integration can log in to the Advantage Platform using their external system's credentials. The system automatically creates their accounts on first login.
Review and update permissions for the AuthAutoProvisionedUser role to define appropriate access levels. For more information on how to edit roles and permission groups, see Roles and Permission Groups.
