Submitting a Document Generation Request
- The contract status category and status are set Request.
- Contract rules are configured. For more information, see Contract Rules and Use Case for Contract Rules.
To submit a document generation request, on the Contract Details page, click Submit Request.
A confirmation message is displayed if the contract information matches a contract rule and the rule is triggered. Depending on the contract rule triggered, either of the following takes place:
When an active contract rule is triggered in "auto" submit request mode, the contract document is automatically generated with the template selected in the contract template rule. The Owner field value is updated with the user group defined in the contract rule. An email notification, including the document, is sent to the address specified in the user group, informing them about the transfer of ownership. The contract document is also accessible through the contract's document link.
When an active contract rule is triggered in the "manual" submit request mode, the Owner field value is updated with the user group specified in the user group contract rule. An email notification about the transfer of ownership is sent to the address listed in the user group.
If the contract information does not match any of the contract rules, a confirmation message "Unable to submit the contract because it didn't match any submission rules. Please contact your administrator for assistance" is displayed.
