Components of a Flow Template
The components of a contract flow template are shown below and include the drawing grid, flow steps (Action, Approval, Logic, and System), connection lines, flow stages, filters, and the Properties window for a flow step.
The components of a Company Flow Template and Project Flow Template are the same except these templates do not have the Creation Template and eSignature action steps.
Flow Template Name and Description fields | Provide a descriptive name for the flow template and a concise description to distinguish it from other flow templates. |
Grid | View the grid, or working area, for the flow. The grid contains both vertical and horizontal rulers to assist you in correctly aligning the steps in the flow. |
Action, Approval, Logic, and System steps | Review the list of steps that can be added to the flow template. These steps include Action steps (Communication, Complete Workflow, Creation Template, Generic, and eSignature), an Approval step, and Logic steps (End Flow, End Stage, Or, and Query Binary Branch). System steps (Automatic Notification, Query Matching, and Update) are those steps that are automatically completed by Conga Contracts when a condition in the flow is met.

Active stage | The active stage in a flow is displayed in blue text. |
START step | The step auto-displays in the grid for every stage and identifies the beginning point of the flow. |
Connection lines | Lines are used to connect the Start, Action, Approval, Logic, System, and End Stage/End Flow steps.
A connection line contains an arrow, which indicates the direction of the flow. |
Properties menu | Click for a step to display a menu, and select Edit Properties to display its Properties window. |
Properties window | Click on a tab to define the step's properties: General - allows you to change the name of the step, provide a description to assist the user in completing the step when the flow displays in the Profile, and add notes to explain the step's purpose. Assignee - assign the step to a specific user, any user, or to a user who holds a specific function or contract responsibility in Conga Contracts. Restrictions - set restrictions to limit the activation of the step based on the populated fields in the Profile. - define the condition(s) that the step must meet before Conga Contracts moves the flow to the next step. The Properties window can be re-sized and moved onscreen. |
Notes icon | A notes icon displays inside the step when you populate the Notes field of the General tab in the Properties window. |

Add Stage | Click to add a stage to the flow template. |
Rename Stage | Click on the stage to select it, click Rename Stage in the toolbar, and follow the onscreen prompts. |
Flow Filter | Click to add a filter to the entire flow. The Restrictions tab in the Properties window for a step is used to apply a filter to an individual step. |
View Revisions | Click to review the number of times the flow template has been revised and load a previous version of the template. |
Save Flow Template | Click to add a flow template or save changes made to the template without publishing it. |
Publish Template | Click to save and publish the template. You may need to reorder the template to control the order in which it is applied to a Profile. |
