CPQ for Advantage Platform 202609.1.0 Release Notes

In these release notes, you can find enhancements and fixed and known issues for the CPQ 202609.1.0 release. For documentation updates, see What's New in CPQ Documentation.

Note:

This documentation may describe optional enhancements for which you have not purchased a license; therefore your solution or implementation may differ from what is described here. Contact your customer success manager (CSM) or account executive (AE) to discuss your specific enhancements and licensing.

Enhancements

The following enhancements are new to CPQ in this release.

Enhanced Line Item Error Messages and Identifier Resolution

You can view clearer and more accurate line item error messages in Conga CPQ. The system now automatically skips null or empty values when identifying line items and displays the first valid attribute available checking Product Name, Product ID, Line Name, and Line ID in sequence. Additionally, error messages are automatically cleared once you resolve the underlying issue, and updating product options functions smoothly when the feature flag is enabled.

For more information, see Cart APIs in Conga Developer Portal.

DSR Storefront URL Delivery for Anonymous Buyer Users

When a sales representative shares a quote using the Anonymous authentication type, the system automatically selects the first available DSR storefront and sends the DSR Storefront URL to anonymous buyer users, enabling them to access the quote through the Digital Sales Room.

For more information, see Sharing a Quote with a Buyer.

Catalog Page Usability Enhancements

The Catalog page introduces several usability enhancements designed to streamline product browsing and cart management.

  • Compact View: You can switch to a dense, two-column layout that displays significantly more products on screen, with aligned action controls and quantity fields across all rows.
  • Bulk Quantity Updates: You can apply a quantity change to all currently selected items in a single action.
  • Streamlined Page Header: You gain more visible workspace with a compact header row that consolidates selection controls, breadcrumbs, search sorting, and pagination.
  • Batch Action Tracking: You can track selected item counts directly inside the batch action button (for example, Add 3 Selected).
  • Smart Cart Indicators: You will see dynamic button badges and tooltips for items already in your cart, and products marked as Sold as Option automatically suppress quantity inputs.
  • Configurable Default Views: Administrators can set a default view mode (Compact, List, or Card) for your organization while preserving your individual view preference.

For more information, see Product Search in the Catalog.

Organization Currency Format Consistency Across CPQ Pages

All CPQ pages display currency values according to the organization’s currency format setting, showing either the currency code or currency symbol as configured. This update provides a consistent currency display experience throughout the application.

For more information, see Overview of the Cart Page.

You can navigate back to the originating CRM Opportunity directly from the Quote Dashboard using a back arrow button or the Opportunity name hyperlink displayed at the top of the page. This allows you to seamlessly return to your parent Opportunity record in your CRM without losing your context.

Clone Quote with All or Selected Lines

You can now clone an entire quote, including all line items, or clone only selected lines. A new pop-up window with radio button options has been introduced. When you choose to clone specific lines, all existing line items are displayed in the same window, allowing you to select the ones you want to include in the cloned quote. If you do not select any line items, then only quote details are cloned.

For more information, see Cloning Existing Quotes.

Character Limit Extended for Attribute

The character limit for attribute field can be extended from 2000 to 5000 using the 'EnableExtendedAttributeLengthLimit' feature settings. By default the value is false.

/api/config-management/v1/configurations/cpq/featuresettings

For more information, see Conga Developer Portal.

Hierarchy Structure in Compare Quote Product Section

The Product column on the compare quote page now displays products in a hierarchy structure, supporting up to 8 levels for bundle products and their options. Pagination functions correctly for large product lists, and exported data represents the hierarchy using the format Parent > Child > Child....

For more information, see Quotes Comparison Overview.

Inactive Option Line Pricing and Status Updates After ABO Actions

Cancelled lines on inactive options now set isAssetpricing to true and automatically revert all start and end dates to match the current asset's dates after an asset-based operation. Secondary lines on inactive options display a Cancelled status and become noneditable, while inactive cancelled lines show Net Price and Delta Price as 0 instead of blank. During Change operation, the inactive option price is not refunded from the bundle whereas during renewal, the inactive option price is automatically deducted from the bundle price.

Clone Cart Without Repricing for Quote and Agreement Flows

You can clone a cart without triggering the pricing and configuration cycle by passing the price = false parameter in your Quote and Agreement cart cloning flows. Previously, every cart clone operation re-fetched pricing information, reprocessed configurations, and recomputed totals even when those values did not need to change. With this enhancement, line items and their related child records including prices, configurations, adjustments, usage tiers, price breakups, and other associated data are copied directly from the source cart, exactly as-is, without any re-pricing or re-configuration overhead.

To achieve this, update your Quote and Agreement cart cloning flows to pass price = false wherever re-pricing and re-configuration are not required.

Note: The Create Agreement and Update Agreement APIs now include a new price query parameter, which defaults to false. No changes have been made to the Clone Quote API signature — for clone quote scenarios, price = true is applied internally by default.

For more information, see Quote APIs in Conga Developer Portal.

Disable Cart and Contract Actions During Contract Creation Job

When a contract creation or update job is in progress, the system disables all cart actions, including mini cart, edit, delete, and contract-related buttons, and displays a message explaining the disabled state. The system checks job status on page refresh and re-enables actions automatically when the job completes or fails. Administrators can configure the polling interval and retry limit for job status checks using the new "QuoteToContractPollingIntervalInMS" and "QuoteToContractPollingRetryLimit" in quote settings.

QuoteToContractPollingIntervalInMS (default: 3000) – Interval between job status checks in milliseconds.

QuoteToContractPollingRetryLimit (default: 60) – Maximum number of polling attempts before polling stops

API: /api/config-management/v1/configurations

For more information, see Overview of the Cart Page and Creating a Contract.

Approval Trigger for Roll-up Lines in Bundles

Approvals now trigger for bundle-level roll-up lines when the configured search filter criteria are met. The approval process sets the LineItem.ApprovalStatus field to ApprovalRequired, displays the Approval icon beside the product name in the cart grid and enables the Submit for Approval button for applicable roll-up lines.

For more information, see Overview of the Cart Page.

Quote Detail Panel in Salesforce

Sales representatives can expand a quote directly within the Salesforce embedded dashboard to view product lines, pricing summaries, and approval statuses without leaving Salesforce.

Opportunity-Scoped Quote Dashboard

Sales representatives can now view all quotes associated with a Salesforce Opportunity in an embedded dashboard, enabling them to check quote status, version, and creation date quickly.

Template Support for Export Cart API

Sales representatives can select from a picklist of administrator-configured templates when initiating import or export actions from the cart. The UI uses a flow-specific template if available, or defaults to the standard template, and downloaded files contain only the fields defined in the selected template.

For more information, see Cart APIs in Conga Developer Portal.

Create Quotes Directly from Salesforce Opportunities

You can create quotes directly from the Salesforce Opportunity page using the new Create Quote button. When you click the button, the system automatically validates required Opportunity fields (such as the Price List), maps your data, and generates the quote using the Create Quote API. Upon successful creation, the CPQ Web UI Quote Details page opens directly embedded within your Opportunity page, eliminating intermediate modals or pop-ups. If any validation or API errors occur, they are displayed directly on your Opportunity page so you can quickly identify and fix missing information.

For more information, see Configuring Conga CPQ Embedded Experience in Salesforce and Creating and Configuring Quotes in Salesforce Opportunity.

Cart Versioning Logic for Superseded and Abandoned Carts

When you create a new cart version via the Launch API, the system now considers Superseded and Abandoned carts based on Activation Date, ensuring your subsequent version numbers strictly follow the accurate historical sequence.

Digital Product Pricing Calculation for Billing Frequency Changes

Digital product pricing now recalculates the base price and net unit price when you change the billing frequency. The calculation distributes the annual price proportionally across the selected billing cycle, providing accurate pricing in the cart grid for frequency conversions.

Line Item Cloning: Accurate Custom Field Value Copying

Line item cloning now copies the latest values of all fields, including custom fields updated by pricing callbacks. The “Clone cart line items” API now preserves these values during collaboration and merge operations, ensuring that cloned line items match the original line items after pricing callbacks.

POST /api/cart/v1/carts/{cartId}/items/clone

For more information, see https://developer.conga.com/revenue/reference/post_api-cart-v1-carts-cartid-items-clone-1 API.

Exclusive Product and Ad-hoc Group Selections in Rebates

The Products and Ad-hoc Groups multi-select fields in Rebate Scope Condition Groups now support mutual exclusivity between the All Products/All Ad-hoc Group options and individual selections. Selecting All Products or All Ad-hoc Group disables individual options, while selecting an individual option disables the corresponding All option. This behavior is consistent across supported application methods and summary views.

For more information, see Defining Scope for a Rebate.

Data Sync Next Steps in Setup Wizard

On the Review & Submit screen of the Conga Integration Setup Wizard, you can now view a Next Steps: Configure Data Sync section upon completing integration setup. This section provides direct links to configure Mapped Objects for Data Sync and Data Sync Scheduled Tasks in the Conga Platform Admin Console. Each link dynamically uses your configured Instance URL and opens in a new tab, helping you navigate directly to essential post-integration configuration tasks.

For more information, see Running Conga Integration Setup Wizard.

Product Publish Timeout Handling and User Notifications

The system now waits up to 15 seconds for the product sync publish job to complete and return a response. If it takes longer, an appropriate message is displayed. For a long-running publish operation, the user is not blocked instead receives clear feedback on status of the operation.

Revalidate Action Support for Migrated Carts

Sales representatives can execute the Revalidate action on migrated carts to identify and resolve master data validation issues, such as inactive or missing Product Line Items (PLIs). This update enables consistent validation of migrated carts against the latest master data, reducing the need for manual intervention when resolving cart errors.

For more information, see Cart APIs in Conga Developer Portal.

Runtime Pricing Integration Between Advantage CPQ and Price Management

Sales representatives can view all item prices in the cart, including List Price, Base Price, and other out-of-the-box pricing fields, when Price Management is enabled for the flow. The system calculates bundle rollups, totals, and applies manual discounts, while displaying custom fields sourced from Price Management. Price updates reflect changes to quantity, term, manual discounts, product additions, and reconfigurations in real time.

Price Management Integration for System Flows

Administrators can enable integration between Advantage CPQ and Conga Price Management for any defined system flow, configuring which line item fields are sent and received. The configuration supports standard and custom fields, including List Price, Base Price Override, Contract Price, Floor Price, Target Price, and Expert Price, with support for number, currency, percentage, boolean, text, and picklist data types. Administrators must explicitly map fields such as Floor Price, Target Price, and Expert Price in the SPOMFieldMap setting to receive these values from Conga Price Management responses.

For more information, see Update a configuration API in Conga Developer Portal and Price Optimization Overview.

Price Program and Rebate Program: Program Type Display and Localized Wizard Titles

The Price Program and Rebate Program Summary panels now display the Program Type instead of the internal Application Method, providing clearer business terminology. Administrators can also localize the wizard page titles for Price Program and Rebate Program using en-us resource bundles or CX Studio. Unique label keys keep these title customizations isolated from other areas of the application.

For more information, see Price Program and Rebate Program.

Auto-Superseding Older Cart Versions Upon Approval

When cart versioning is enabled, reconfiguring a finalized cart now creates a new cart with status set to New, regardless of the auto finalization setting. This update resets approval states and cart status during cloning, ensuring that each new cart version starts from the initial state rather than inheriting approval or finalization statuses from the parent cart.

For more information, see Cart APIs in Conga Developer Portal.

Embedded CPQ Web UI Regression Automation Suite

A dedicated regression automation suite now supports the embedded CPQ Web UI flow launched from the Salesforce Quote page, mirroring the existing test coverage. This enables quality engineering teams to validate each sprint release for the embedded experience without impacting the original suite.

The embedded CQP Web UI within Salesforce Opportunity now supports full price flows, including pricing calculation, repricing, discounts, and formula field evaluation. Pricing calculations, adjustments, and display of unit and extended prices are performed directly in the embedded view, updating values without requiring a page reload. The embedded interface renders correctly within the Salesforce Lightning page layout, hiding the platform header and navigation for a seamless experience. Exiting the embedded view navigates to the Quote Details page, while the back arrow returns to the Opportunities page, and each configure action from the Opportunity page creates a new quote.

For more information, see Configuring Conga CPQ Embedded Experience in Salesforce.

Embedded CPQ Web UI for Product Configurations in Salesforce Opportunity

The embedded CPQ Web UI now supports full configuration flows for products and bundles directly within the Salesforce Opportunity. All configuration options, attributes, and constraints are accessible in the embedded iframe, and configured line items are reflected in the cart without requiring a full Salesforce page reload. The embedded view adapts to the Salesforce Lightning page layout, hiding the Platform header and navigation for a seamless experience.

Embedded CPQ Web UI for Catalog and Quotes in Salesforce Opportunity

The embedded CPQ Web UI within Salesforce Opportunity supports catalog browsing, product search, and quote service operations directly within the Salesforce Opportunity, displaying products, categories, and quote details without UI clipping or overflow. Add products including bundles and configurable products from the embedded catalog to quotes, and perform quote-level actions with data persisting to the Conga Platform. The embedded view hides the Platform header and navigation for a seamless experience within the Salesforce Lightning page layout.

For more information, see Configuring Conga CPQ Embedded Experience in Salesforce.

Configure Field and Action Layouts via JSON Editor in Storefront Settings

Administrators can now configure field and action visibility for Digital Commerce storefront pages using the Set up Field Layouts and Actions entry in Storefront Settings. The built-in JSON editor provides syntax highlighting, formatting, real-time validation, and error messages, and allows administrators to load a default template or existing storefront configuration. Changes are permission-controlled and saved directly to the storefront record.

For more information, see Editing Storefront Setting.

Embedded CPQ Web UI for Cart Operations in Salesforce Opportunity

The embedded CPQ Web UI within Salesforce Opportunity now enables direct cart operations such as adding, updating, and removing products within the Salesforce Opportunity, eliminating the need to switch between platforms. All cart actions, including field mapping, formula calculations, and complex quote scenarios, are fully supported and display seamlessly in the Salesforce Lightning page layout. Users are automatically redirected to the Salesforce Opportunity after finalizing, saving, or abandoning the cart, with the embedded view optimized to hide platform navigation elements.

For more information, see Configuring Conga CPQ Embedded Experience in Salesforce.

Enhanced Guidance and Tooltips in Conga Integration Setup Wizard

The Conga Integration Setup Wizard now includes detailed tooltips, inline notes, and help text for all screens and fields, providing Salesforce administrators with clear, contextual guidance throughout each configuration step. Disclaimer checkboxes are present on key steps, requiring explicit authorization before proceeding, and all guidance content is reviewed for accuracy and completeness. These updates improve clarity for each field and step, helping administrators complete the integration process without external references. Key configuration steps such as Auth Provider, Remote Site Settings, UI-to-API Connection, OAuth/OpenID Settings, and Trusted URLs now include mandatory disclaimer checkboxes. You must review and explicitly authorize these changes before saving. Additionally, conditional warning banners alert you whenever input values differ from saved settings, giving you greater clarity, security, and confidence during setup.

For more information, see Conga Integration Wizard for Salesforce & Platform Integration.

Asset Status Validation During Cart Finalization in ABO Operations

The system now validates the status of each asset during cart finalization for any asset-based operation. If any asset in the cart is cancelled, inactive, or does not exist, an error message displays the asset's ID or name and its status, preventing order activation with invalid assets.

Embedded Conga CPQ Experience for Salesforce

Conga CPQ offers an embedded experience within Salesforce, allowing you to manage the entire quote lifecycle directly from Opportunity and Account records without switching interfaces. You can view and interact with Conga Web UI pages including Quote List, Assets, and Orders seamlessly inside Salesforce. All quote and quote lifecycle activities are managed on the Conga Platform, with no data synchronization required for quotes, carts, orders, or assets. Synchronization to the Opportunity record occurs only when the cart is finalized or when the 'Sync to Opportunity' action is triggered, ensuring that opportunity data reflects the latest quote changes.

The Manual Sync Cart with Opportunity API allows synchronization of primary line items from a quote to its associated opportunity, independent of the underlying CRM. The API transfers key line-item details, supports revised carts, and restricts syncing for abandoned or superseded carts. If multiple primary quotes exist, the first created is synced. Administrators and sales teams can use this API to maintain accurate opportunity data. Manual synchronization is also available via the Sync to Opportunity action on the Quote detail page, visible when the quote is marked as primary and linked to an opportunity. Triggering this action syncs the quote line items to the opportunity, and any subsequent reconfiguration and cart finalization will update the opportunity upon re-invoking the action. For more information, see https://documentation.conga.com/en/cpq-for-advantage-platform/current/cpq-for-users/quotes/manually-syncing-quotes-with-opportunities .

Automatic synchronization is supported when the Auto Sync With Opportunity setting is enabled. Finalizing the shopping cart for a primary quote with a linked opportunity automatically syncs the line items to the opportunity, including updates from subsequent cart finalizations. This process operates independently of the CRM and supports callback extensions for advanced scenarios.

For more information, see Manually Syncing Quotes with Opportunities, Configuring Conga CPQ Embedded Experience in Salesforce, Creating and Configuring Quotes in Salesforce Opportunity, and Conga Developer Portal.

Display Custom Totals on Cart Grid

Administrators can now configure the Cart Grid to display totals for selected custom currency fields instead of the out-of-the-box (OOTB) totals by using the new "Display Custom Totals on Cart" setting in Application Settings> Global Settings> Pricing> Totaling and Subtotaling. The Pricing and Cart engines calculate and display only the mentioned custom totals on the Cart Grid and in the Summary totals section, hiding OOTB totals when custom fields are specified. OOTB and custom totals are mutually exclusive, and if a mentioned custom field is deleted from the schema, manual configuration update is required.

For more information, see Configuring Pricing Settings.

Restrict Adding Favorites to Locked Carts

CPQ prevents users from adding products from Favorites to a locked cart that is owned by another user. When attempting to add a favorite to a locked cart, the Catalog API returns an error message, maintaining cart integrity and preventing unauthorized modifications.

For more information, see Cart APIs in Conga Developer Portal.

Organization Currency Display Format Support Across CPQ Pages

All CPQ pages now display currency values according to the organization’s configured CurrencyDisplayFormat setting, showing either the currency code or symbol as specified.

For more information, see Organization Management.

Percentage-Based Discount on Base Price

Administrators can now apply a percentage-based discount directly to the base price after matrices, rules, promotions, and product option price adjustments are applied. The discount also applies to bundle prices and supports rounding and adjustment spread settings.

For more information, see Configuring Pricing Settings and Pricing a Product on the Shopping Cart.
