You must have highlighted the text or field to make conditional.

Note

You cannot add action if the condition resolves to False.

  1. In the X-Author Templates ribbon tab, click Set Segment > Conditional. The Expression Builder dialog box will appear.
  2. Within the Expression Builder, you can make selected text or a field conditional. The picklist allows you to choose the business object to which the Template is related.
  3. After choosing the business object, all of the fields in that business object will automatically expand, showing you a list of the available fields to choose from. Choose the necessary fields.
  4. To use a lookup, click the ellipses after the object picklist. A dialog box will pop up that allows you to select the object context in the left pane and the corresponding object field or extension attribute from the right pane.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Click the ellipses after the value text box. A dialog box will pop up that allows you to select the values. Select a value and click Ok.
  7. Click Finish to apply the conditional for the highlighted text or field. The Control Panel will open up and you will see a new field called Segment Conditional. This confirms that you have made the highlighted text conditional.

If you are using the Conga Contract Lifecycle Management package version prior to 12.605 version, set conditional segment will not work for the picklist and multi-select picklist data types. In this case, a message is displayed that 'There are no picklist values available to select for this field <field name>. However, you can key in the values for picklist and multi-select picklist to apply any condition.

You have successfully made selected text or a field conditional using the lookup feature in the Expression Builder within a Template.
