System Requirements and Supported Platforms
For requirements and recommendations to consider before installing the Conga product suite, see the System Requirements and Supported Platforms Matrix.
New Features
The following features are new to CPQ in this release.
OAuth Authentication for Conga CPQ
CPQ now uses the the JWT (JSON Web Token) flow for authentication OAuth token flow instead of Session Id for authentication with the Conga Merge Service. This change enhances application security and ensures more secure authentication management. Any Session ID passed by custom code is ignored, and the current user name is used to retrieve the OAuth token.
To achieve this, you must have selected the permitted users for Conga SF Connected app and granted Conga SF Connected app to all users.
For more information, see Selecting Permitted Users for Conga SF Connected App and Granting Conga SF Connected App Access to Users.
Import Cart Line Items from Excel with Bulk Data
You can import bulk cart line items from Excel files that contain large datasets in multiple formats. This enables you to import line items from Excel or CSV files directly into a quote before launching the cart, supporting both sync and async actions. The import action validates required fields, records activity history, and automatically adds valid line items to the quote, with cart totals and rules recalculated upon import. Line items not present in the import file remain unaffected, and import is not permitted for read-only carts.
You can import bulk cart line items from Excel files that contain large datasets in multiple formats. The import feature now supports blank fields, null values, and multi-picklist values. The error templates are improved to clearly identify data mismatches in the relevant columns during bulk uploads.
For more information, see Importing Line Items.
Admin Setting to Save Rule Information on Favorite Creation
A new admin setting, APTS_RetainRuleInformationOnFavoriteCreation, allows administrators to control whether the system retains applied rule information and user selections when creating a favorite. When enabled, the system preserves rule data and validation messages. When disabled (default), the system resets rule data and auto-includes dependent items when the favorite is added.
For more information, see APTS_RetainRuleInformationOnFavoriteCreation admin setting.
Monitor External Service for Copy Action
The CPQ application now monitors the status of external service/API calls during copy operations and displays real-time progress and failure messages. Cart lines being processed by the external service become read-only and return to normal state when the operation completes or fails. Administrators can configure polling intervals and attempt limits for the external service monitor in the Config system properties.
For more information, see Smart Price Optimization (SPOM) details in the Config System Properties page.
Attribute Value Matrix (AVM) - Removal of Account Location Field
The Account Location field from the CPQ Admin and Edit pages for Attribute Value Matrices (AVM) are no longer supported as a scope for AVM configuration. Due to Salesforce package limitations, the field may still appear on the Salesforce AVM page layout, but CPQ does not use it.
For more information, see Creating Attribute Value Matrices.
Filter Expression Removal in CPQ Admin
The unused Filter Expression field has been removed from the Field Expression page to align with supported behaviour and simplify setup.
Cart Line Sequence in Proposal and Agreement Line Items
You can pass the line sequence field from cart line items to proposal line items and agreement line items when they are created. Hence, when you resequence products in the cart to match the order you want to present to your customers, the updated sequence is saved downstream. As a result, document generation and agreement creation use your revised line order, helping you ensure that information is displayed accurately and in the logical sequence you intended.
Grand Total Tooltip on Cart Page
A help tooltip is added on the cart page next to the Grand Total icon. When you hover over the icon, a message appears explaining that you can click it to view additional details about the totals and subtotals of the products in the cart.
For more information, see Cart in Grid View.
New Auto-Inclusion Indicator
The auto-inclusion indicator for rule-added products displays a new, more intuitive icon across all relevant pages, including cart, configuration, and sub-bundle views. This update provides clearer visual identification of auto-included products for all users.
For more information, see Auto-Inclusion with Line Item Updates, Configuring and Adding Products, and Configuring Product Option Group in Product Scope.
Enhancement to Favorites in Cart
When a favorite is created from the cart, the applied rule information and rule action details are now saved. This enhancement also retains rule information and rule action details when you add the favorite is later to a new cart. This ensures that all your selections and any rule changes made for each line item remain intact. As a result, unintended overrides are prevented, and the product configuration is maintained.
To achieve this, enable the APTS_RetainRuleInformationOnFavoriteCreation admin setting.
For more information, see Favorite Configuration for Efficient Cart Management and Configuring Admin settings.
CPQ Admin UI: Price Matrix Entry Limit Expansion
The New CPQ Admin UI now supports up to 1,000 price matrix entries per price matrix, configurable from the backend. Administrators can choose pagination options of 500 or 1,000 entries per page to manage large pricing data more easily. This update applies only to the New Admin UI and does not affect the Salesforce Classic Admin UI.
For more information, see Creating Price Matrices.
Advanced Formula Support for Default Price and Quantity
CPQ Admin now supports advanced CPQ formula fields for the Default Price From and Default Quantity From settings on price list items. Pricing calculations reflect these formula-based defaults in the cart grid, and the options are available in the PLI Defaults tab. This capability is available only in the Conga CPQ Admin and is not supported in Salesforce Classic CPQ Admin.
