Removing Duplicate Conga Composer Setup Tab

Remove the duplicate Conga Composer Setup tab.

Upgrading from Composer version 8.148, and all Composer versions preceding version 8.148, to the latest versions creates duplicate Conga Composer Setup tabs in Salesforce. The old Conga Composer Setup tab is no longer necessary and is easily deletable.

Note: Duplicate Conga Composer Setup tabs are not created when upgrading from Composer versions newer than Composer version 8.148.

It is highly suggested to remove the old Conga Composer Setup tab to ensure that users leverage the new Conga Composer Setup Menu.

Follow the steps below to remove the duplicate Conga Composer Setup tab.

  1. Navigate to Setup in Salesforce.
  2. Type in Tabs in the Quick Find search box.
  3. Click Tabs under the User Interface section.
  4. Scroll down to the Web Tabs section.
  5. Click Del (delete) next to Conga Composer Setup in the Web Tabs section.
    Note: Only one Conga Composer Setup tab under the Web Tabs section provides the Del option to delete the tab. This tab is deletable because it no longer managed after upgrading to the latest version of Composer. The new Conga Composer Setup Menu is not deletable because it is part of the managed package.
  6. Click Ok.
    After deleting the unmanaged Conga Composer Setup tab, users can only access the new Conga Composer Setup menu.
